Scientists Discover That Boys Will Be Boys
The moonbat campaign to prissify the next generation by forbidding boys from playing with toy guns may be doomed to failure. Dr. Kim Wallen and colleagues at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center in Atlanta found that even among monkeys, boys prefer boys' toys, polysexual political correctness be damned:
Their conclusion contradicts those of the dominant psychological theory that the preference of boys for vehicles and toy soldiers and that of girls for dolls is down to social rather than innate influences.
Similar results have been found for vervet monkeys. A study of toy preferences among the offspring of latte liberals awaits funding.

On a tip from Panday.

This just in: moonbat parents, birth moonbat babies. (those that survive the 9 months unless a coat hanger gets em)
*i prefer the coat hanger to the alternative.

That's because the monkeys haven't been properly re-educated in proper gender-neutral play. I see nationally-funded politically-correct monkey preschool curricula in the case of an Obama presidency...

Someone call Harvard, a gentleman named Larry Sommerville wants to stick his tongue out and taunt, "I told ya so."

In graduate school I recall a feminist professor explaining how she was raising her son to be gender neutral. So, on one occasion she told her son he could pick anything he wanted from a toy store isle. The boy picked a purse. She said she "cringed" and talked to boy out of buying the purse. She admitted that theory hit head-on with reality. I did not agree with alot of her views but I had to admire her candor.

"Gender neutral" ISN'T. It's a fad brought in by western "femnists" who saw men and women in the Soviet Union working the same jobs and they decided that this showed "enlightenment". But the truth is that communists look upon people as just BODIES, "cogs" in the machine that fights "the world revolution".
Durring the late sixties, the "femnists" (Note sarcastic quotes) demanded the abandonment of FEMALE titles in favor of "gender nutral" titles, but by dropping feminine titles, they forced titles that were either generic, or MALE. This cuased a loss of their female identity and heritage.
Personaly, I think women are wonderful, but I would prefer to see women do great things AS WOMEN and not in imitation of MEN!

I never cease to marvel at this bit of moonbat theology. They're presumably trying to overcome the knock on socialism, that it's against human nature to subordinate personal interests to those of the collective, to which they've always responded that man's present nature arises from upbringing in a capitalist society. Change the society, change human nature and behavior, or so they would have us believe.
But anyone watching golden retrievers' (sweethearts all) innate love of water, compared to the equally profound dislike of water of most other breeds, cannot seriously question that behavior can indeed be innate, and not just learned.
Or, to put it another way, try to interest a toddler in something he's not intrinsically interested in. Just try. And see how much parental influence you've really got!

I've rambled about this before in the context that it causes a total dislocation of left-wing belief, to whit; if gender is not innate how can transexuality exist?

Having posted the above, I'll just nail my colours to the mast and say that my guess is that yes (of course) sex** is innate and therefore it seems logical to conclude that there may well be a rare, deeply unfortunate medical condition in which the "gender wiring" is wrong. The recent apparent massive increase in this condition though would suggest that an increasing proportion of the people thus diagnosed are suffering from something psychological instead. Nothing could be more lunatic or damaging than encouraging children in the belief that they may suffer from such a thing, since the "cure" is not much cure at all and tragically irreversible.
There's also a good argument (I think) that even in cases where the person is genuinely wrongly "gender wired", it may be better to be the trapped in the wrong, but fully functional, body, than to be given a poor, disfunctional facsimile of the "right one". I've read the views of a few post-op transexuals who've said pretty much that.
**gender is a term imposed on the language, in this context, by radical feminism, so let's get back to the proper word for sex; sex.

Nice observations, Ian. I'll have to shamelessly plagarize your "if gender is not innate, then how can transsexuality exist?" argument. I too have heard that there's a lot of "buyer's remorse" among those who go through the full surgical alteration. I don't imagine the doctors are kind enough to keep your goods on ice, in case you want a "do-over."

I'll admit. I did use to play with barbie dolls. Whenever I did, however, it would involve lighter fluid, matches, firecrackers, and in one case, a BB gun.
PS, melted plastic fuses to your skin.Always use gloves when playing with matches.

I can verify this one Jay... I have a female that is half Golden and half Black Lab (webbed paws) who never could be kept out of water. She used to jump in the lake and "save my son from drowning" even when he wasn't interested in being "saved"... LOL!!! I also have a German Shepherd who absolutely want's NOTHING to do with water... "keep me away from that stuff" kind of dog!! And childen and their gender identity is much like that... great comparison Jay.
