San Francisco Bureaucrats Throw Greed into Overdrive

It takes serious money to fund all those gay pride parades and Fulsome Street public sex exhibits. Fortunately for San Francisco, taxpayers have lots of it. The latest confiscatory scheme: exorbitant fines if one of your recycling bins is visible from the street.

Due to the pointless recycling craze, every home gets three 32-gallon cans. If they are not kept completely out of sight, Mayor Newsom will hit you up for $100. If you have nowhere to put the cans, so much the better when it comes to raising revenue. Also, you have to have the cans off the street by 6 p.m. on collection day. If you're not home from work by 6, that's great — because you'll need to work hard to pay the fines.
