Reverend Wrong Goes Overboard
So Obama has finally acknowledged the necessity of throwing his spiritual mentor overboard.
Whatever happened to this:
What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice. He's much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I'm not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that's involved in national politics.
…and this:
[Jeremiah Wright is a] friend and a great leader, not just in Chicago but across the country.
…and this:
I can no more disown him [Wright] than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother — a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe.
Then again, if he could toss the grandmother who raised him down the stairs by denouncing her as a racist, it couldn't be too hard to stick a knife in his "sounding board."
O'Bigot had Wright on his campaign staff until the "God Damn America" videos came to light. Even after that, he refused to condemn him. Yet after Wright proved at the National Press Club yesterday that he's too crazy and arrogant to lay low until after the election, it became clear that the loose cannon had to go over the gunwale.
We are now asked to believe that in the course of their close 20-year relationship, Obama was unaware of the deafeningly and relentlessly expressed opinions of the demagogue who recruited him into the depraved cult of black liberation theology. Apparently he thinks we're not only bitter, but retarded.

On a tip from General Jack D. Ripper.

Reason #25 not to be friends with a democratic politician:
Thrown under the bus.
Posted by: conservartiveteen at April 29, 2008 9:43 PM
Democrats always find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Look for the apologists at NBC, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, etc. go into spin-control overdrive.
Posted by: Smoke TNT at April 29, 2008 10:06 PM
This will be spun as a "courageous" act by Senator Obama and now the problem is behind us.
No one will point out the breathtaking inconsistancies in all of his statements, of course. Wouldn't want to rock the Obama Boat.
What a total crock. That Obama is a completely new kind of candidate. Oh sure. Sounds just like all the other libs to me. Say this, oops, didn't work, say that, oops, they don't buy it, quick come up with something else. Its disgusting. And of course the lapdogs in the media just gush praise on anything that comes out of his mouth.

I'm afraid I can't change religion/mentorship/ideology as easily as Obama.
Hmmmmm....
That's okay... his constituancy is too stupid to see it...

"Obama basking in hate."
you are right! Basking in hate! He is in a church afterall!
Posted by: Anonymous at April 30, 2008 1:32 AM
Yeah, according to your 'religion' anonymous troll, he would be basking in pure love if he were in a mosque.
Diptard.

Yeah man, awesome, Obama threw Pastor of Crazy Town under the bus, ran him over, threw it into reverse and did it again. Of course it wont help as Obama followed that kook for 20 years. As Al Gore would say: "A zebra does not change its spots." - Al Gore, attacking President George Bush in 1992.

The more I know about Jeremiah Wright, the better I like a pit of venomous vipers!

I wonder if this whole Obama-Wright thing was staged? Is it just a ploy to deflect people from Wright? If Wright vanishes into the mist never to be heard from again publicly - then maybe it was all fake. If Wright goes nuclear and says something like "How could Barack deny that I am not the same person he met 20 years ago? Barack said I am like family to him, an uncle! To hell with you Mr. Obama! God will damn you because your white side is showing too much! You and your white grammy will be roasting in hell! Oh yeah Brother Obama - hope you like it HOT!" then I will say ok, the feud is real.

Will the day come when African American liberals wake up and realize what the socialists - oops Democrats- have done to them? They have to realize someday that the liberal, ivory tower elites convinced them they are inferior and need special help succeeding, gotten many addicted to government handouts, done nothing to address drugs and violence in their neighborhoods and created an imaginary white race of racist boogeymen in exchange for votes. I'm a little pessimistic about how that reaction will play out. Something tells me the LA riots were nothing compared to what we are about to see.

If I could cut Hussein any slack about this at all, it's that I am sure that his crazy b-tch wife picked the church, not him. Michelle Obama is a complete head-case. America provided her with an ivy-league education and a $300,000 a year job, and she is still full of hate and rage because of the "oppression" she has suffered.

I wouldnt want to be in Denver this August if Obama is denied the nomination. Denver could look like that scene at the end of CONQUEST OF THE PLANET OF THE APES with the burning buildings and piles of bodies of cops if the Nation of Islam and the New Black Panthers show up.

They already begin to spin Obama's big news conference on how brave he was and it was very courageous to say those things about the good Reverand. or He looked very calm and well groomed. GOD!!! What a bunch of liars!!!

Are there any cartoons out there that show Obamas white grandma and his spiritual mentor under the Obama bus? Is there room for that Weatherman terrorist under there? LOL!

Look at todays YAHOO headlines - Osama has already dropped off the radar. Now they are touting deaths in Iraq in an almost joyful way. Putting emphasis on low GDP growth (they keep telling us we are in a recession but GDP/unemployment number say we arent). Along with crap about the Czars heirs, sex slave and American I-dull.
As of 10:47 a.m. EDT
• Baghdad killings push U.S. troop deaths in Iraq to 7-month high
• Economy grows by only 0.6 percent on housing and credit woes
• Economists slam McCain and Clinton's gas tax holiday proposal
• Captive daughter reunites with children in Austrian psych ward
• DNA tests confirm identities of last czar's childrenPhotos
• Documents: Microsoft eyes retention plan for Yahoo! workers
• Artists beg to mentor 'American Idols' - Good Morning Yahoo!

Obama gave the chattering class what it wanted, a "denunciation" strong enough to declare case closed....time to move on....get this behind us....get back to the real issues, blah blah. Obama and the left wing media are the same team, working for the same goal. Many outside the media are now doubting what this Obama thing is really all about, but the media haven't left the team yet. He's their ticket to flower power back in the White House.

(With apologies to Private Eye)
That Obama Press Conference in Full:
"It has come to my attention that my characterization over the last 20 years of Reverend Wright as, 'my spiritual mentor', 'the father I wish I’d had', 'the greatest human being who has ever lived', and, 'a God among men who 'graces us with his shining presence', may have inadvertently led people to believe that I somehow admired the man, his work or his teachings."
"I would like to set the record straight and make it clear that I now understand Reverend Wright to be nothing more than a venal, opportunistic race baiter who is a threat to civilization and who should be hung or taken out and shot, preferably both at the same time. If Reverend Wright were to be struck down in the street by an out of control semi, my only regret would be that I was not the one behind the wheel."
"I would like to offer my sincere, heartfelt apologies to anyone who believes anything that I say."

The more i read this board, the more I would like to piss on everyone from above. Why can't you give th man a break?? You are all a bunch of narrow minded conservatives, without a clear vision of the big picture. Give him a break damit !!! And VOTE OBAMA '08 !!!!!! Viva OBAMA...Viva OBAMA...Viva OBAMA ....

nom de guerre
OK, just what is "the big picture"? Is it that Obama's wife and preacher are whitey-hating racists and that he has the support of known terrorists?
Posted by: KHarn at April 30, 2008 1:32 PM
No, KHarn... the big picture is that Barack is a better judge of what's good for you than you are. You must stop besmurching his audacity to hope, repent of your bitter insistence on the backward notion that you have individual rights, discontinue clinging to your bible and your guns, and turn everything over to the collective.
Resistance is futile.
Ugh... These people make me gag.

"They already begin to spin Obama's big news conference on how brave he was and it was very courageous to say those things about the good Reverand."
The real courage comes in when he goes home at night with that angry, black female, racist, Michelle!
Ugh... These people make me gag.
Me too mf.
