More Moonbat History from Howard Zinn

Just how evil is America, according to the propaganda being force-fed to students? Howard Zinn's new book A People's History of American Empire — fittingly released on April Fools Day — offers a clue. Here's a promotional video, narrated by Tinseltown limousine Leninist Viggo Mortensen:

Outside of Barack Obama's church, more heavy-handed anti-American propaganda would be hard to imagine. Zinn teaches us that America has been a blight on the world from our earliest days, that we were bad guys even as we stopped the Nazis, and that we brought the Muslim atrocities of 9/11 on ourselves.

What makes these sick ravings particularly appalling is that Zinn has had enormous influence over what is passed off as history in our schools. His vicious anti-American screed A People's History of the United States serves as the main text in many college history courses.

The goal of Zinn and other moonbat educators is straightforward: to brainwash future generations into sharing their violent hatred for America and everything it stands for, assuring our great nation's destruction by twisting it against itself. The popularity of Barack Obama among those barely old enough to vote is horrifying evidence that this campaign has been succeeding.

Hat tip: Slapstick Politics.

I didn't know W had been awarded an Iron Cross. Well, you learn something new every day I guess.

I've heard most of this stuff before, but the bit about Korea was new. A UN military action to stop a bolshevik invasion was actually US imperialism...mmmmkay.

I'll bet the South Koreans are really angry about that!

Typical pacifist self-loathing drivel in an attempt to make himself look both morally and intellectually superior to others. So he was a bomber in WWII? Using liberal logic I must ask if he has he apologized for for the random killing of women and children? He is a baby killer after all. People like this make me sick.

This was heartbreaking for me. I was a huge Viggo Mortensen fan.
We can never deny or justify some of the incredible cruelty of our nations history. Manifest Destiny, slavery, or American Imperialism. Which did occur for a short period of time over 100 years ago. Then it was about competition for survival. But Viggo left out some important facts. The American people were provoked and dragged into both world wars. The official policy was Isolationism. America did everything we could to avoid war, like any peaceful democracy. But when a peace loving democracy is forced to fight, not only will they win, but they will punish those who began the war.
America earned NOTHING from WWI. No land, no reparations, only sacrifice. And after WWII more sacrifice. Russia gained the spoils from the war through expansionism.

What would Viggo want?
Alow Europe and Asia to become Communist?
For America to be left at the mercy of foreign countries for oil?
How about if European settlers not expanded from East to West coast.
Well, I doubt there would have even been a Hollyweird.

Zinn is worse than the evil guy from the old Johnny Quest cartoons.

Well then we shouldn't get into the imperial Darfur.

UCA -- Let's not forget, not only did we get no personal gain whatsoever after the World Wars, but we spend a tidy sum of tax dollars rebuilding the countries we had fought in. It wasn't enough to just restore the country to it's citizens, we helped them rebuild it, even the countries that attacked us (Japan -WWII)!!! So... when do we get "Repairations for Pearl Harbor"??? I with Mark... these people make me sick and I really wish we could make them go live in say... China!

"I'm with", NOT "I with"... darn, my typing stinks anymore!

...and I really wish we could make them go live in say... China!

Nope. China's too good for them. North Korea.

"Yes, look at the imperialist horrors we imposed on South Korea, and compare it to the unspoiled, undefiled land to the north!"
Whoa, I just channeled a moonbat... Scary...

I tried to watch the video, but it says it's no longer available. Has it been taken down?

Arthur, It's available now.

I agree totally Hoosier.
The only thing I can say is Japan is a great success story for us and WWII. Douglas MacArthur instituted MacArthur Constitution and established a successful democracy in Japan that became a great alli and an economic success. To this day they abide by the treaties following WWII and never built an army capable of invading another country. I believe that the Japanese people were very repentant for the actions of the 1930's and 40's. And what country can't say they've made mistakes? Though the Japanese barbarism was extensive, and some relationships with their neighboring countries were never repaired. I have had Korean and Vietnamese students (and Phillipino) explain to me their hatetrid of the Japanese, and its understandable. But don't forget one of America's greatest civil rights violations in history, the Japanese internment camps. Sorry black people, you don't own a monopoly on racial injustice.
I won't forget following 9/11 that one ofour greatest supporting countries was Japan, and they lost several hundred Japanese citizens in the attack at the World Trade Center.

Very well said UCA. Describe the ole USA Warmongers in action there! Geez, I get tired of hearing people act like we have always been aggressors and always take over other countries... if we ever had a reason to take over anything, it was Japan and Germany. That is a great reminder that all things must be looked at carefully in the context of history.
