Minnesota Taxpayers Fund Public Madrasa
Katherine Kersten reports on what Minnesota taxpayers are financing at the public charter school Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy (TIZA):
TIZA has many characteristics that suggest a religious school. It shares the headquarters building of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, whose mission is "establishing Islam in Minnesota." The building also houses a mosque. TIZA's executive director, Asad Zaman, is a Muslim imam, or religious leader, and its sponsor is an organization called Islamic Relief.
Students pray daily, the cafeteria serves halal food — permissible under Islamic law — and "Islamic Studies" is offered at the end of the school day.
Teachers' duties include the "ritual washing" of children in preparation for Islamic rituals. Testifies substitute teacher Amanda Getz:
The prayer I saw was not voluntary. The kids were corralled by adults and required to go to the assembly where prayer occurred.
No word on whether TIZA covers bomb-making in Arts & Crafts class. As for the wall of separation between church and state schools, that only applies to infidels.
If moonbattery had been this advanced during WWII, public schools would have had the kids goose-stepping around the playground in black uniforms with Wagner playing over the loudspeakers.

"The Simpsons has been dropped from morning TV in Venezuela after being deemed unsuitable for children - and has been replaced by Baywatch.
The popular US cartoon about the yellow dysfunctional family was branded "inappropriate" and pulled by the country's television authorities. "

" . . .its sponsor is an organization called Islamic Relief." "Islamic Relief" being an enabler and funder of Hamas and Hizbollah. Check out Debbie Schlussel's blog, where she has been reporting on these fifth columnists for the last several years (www.debbieschlussel.com).
The Prez once said that you're either with us or with the terrorists -- looks like he, Chertoff, Julie Myers of ICE and all of her incompetent cronies have gone over to the terrorists' side (actions speak louder than words, Mr. President).

Someone should ask Al Franken about this while he's still running for the Senate in Minnesota.

Watch him weasel his way out of any responsibility:
TIZA Executive Director Azad Zaman insisted the school follows with state and federal laws.
"TIZA does not endorse any religion," he said.
"It is most likely that this substitute teacher was sadly mistaken," said Zaman.
He said the school follows state and federal guidelines when it comes to religion.
"We're required under the federal guidelines to allow students to pray when they wish to do so. And as Muslim students, they're allowed to pray around 1:30 p.m., so we allow them to do that," Zaman explained.
TIZA requires all students to learn Arabic as a second language English.
State law requires the school to fly an American flag during school hours, however no flag flies outside of TIZA Academy.
Zaman told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS he didn’t know how to work the flagpole.

Besides Antartica, is the any "safe place" where someone, who believes in the old-fashioned principals of hard work, self-discipline and determination, and doing the right thing, can go to live in peace without all the hokey BS????
