Killer Bra Lawsuit

Competition intensifies for the Silliest Lawsuit of the Week. This week's winner is Jessica Lang of Greenville, South Carolina, who is demanding unspecified damages from Victoria Secret, for selling her a bra that "malfunctioned." A wire popped out of the bra and scratched her, causing her "lost wages, pain and suffering, future disability, loss of prospective business relations and medical expenses."

As originally filed, the suit claimed that her wound was "nearly six inches wide and six inches deep." Apparently that raised some eyebrows, because they toned it down to 3 inches by 1/4 inch deep.

Exhibit A: Don't get too close; it might malfunction.

On a tip from Wiggins.

Actually, this isn't funny when it happens. The wires can cause some damage, but certainly not worth the merit of anything more than small claims. Lawsuits that make the claims of damage as this one does it truly bogus and stupid. Maybe Jessica just needs to get a Darwin Award. People like her make me ill. It's obvious she considers and expensive push up bra necessary for a "business image"... gee I wonder why? What kind of "business" is she engaged in????

Now wait a minute. I can uh...sympathize with that one. If you knew how those underwire bras were made and how little fabric and thread holds that wire from piercing your breast like an oversized hoop earring. That may not at all be a frivolous lawsuit. Ouchy. Ouch. Ouch.

I hope there isn't a lot of fallout over it. :)

Still safer than those rocket bras from the 50s. I heard some kid got his eye poked out.

Perhaps wearers of such engineered bras should be sued for false advertising :)

Yep Ian... but it depends... padded yes, but some are designed to "push up what God gave ya"... but I guess that is false advertising too, especially if what God gave ya ain't so perky as it once was. LOL!!!

Lost prospective business relations? Does she consult for NY governors?

You beat me to it - I'd need to see what was damaged - what they looked and felt like before and after.
