Relatives Suing over Drunken Fool Drowning

There is one positive aspect to the disintegration of our legal system into unmitigated moonbattery. It's easy to get rich now that you can sue anyone who has money for your own mistakes. You can even sue on behalf of others whose mistakes got them killed.

In Putnam Lake, north of New York City, a drunken Gladys Mendoza decided to take her 2-year-old nephew swimming, after the lifeguard went off duty. As sometimes happens to drunks who fail to stay away from the water, she drowned. Trying to swim in deep water with the kid on her back, she very nearly got him killed too.

Naturally, her relatives want to cash in. They claim that the Putnam Lake Community Council is to blame by allowing there to be "a large underwater boulder" that somehow caused her death. To have encountered the boulder, Mendoza would have to have been swimming six feet underwater.

Like many lawsuits, this one has no merit whatsoever. But you never know what a jury might decide. Maybe the Council should just pay the relatives to go away, as they're probably hoping. Better still, maybe swimming should just be banned, along with any other activities that could result in injury if engaged in by drunken idiots. That way, civilization won't get sued out of existence.

On a tip from Wiggins.

There should be a system where if your lawsuit holds no water and just wastes everybodys time, you have to pay a hefty fine yourself.

I actually believe obama believes in reigning in the out of control trial lawyers while hillary does not

Before long murderers will be suing the victims' families for not aborting them, thus causing said murderer a "life sentence of suffering".

A lot like silly mooslims stoning rape victims.

With all these victim-society lawsuits going on we'll eventually have to resort to the kinda things they are doing in England now:

"Brick Lane made Britain's first 'Safe Text' street with padded lampposts to prevent mobile phone injuries"
