Rebecca Aguilar Canned
A little good news for a change: reporter Rebecca Aguilar has been canned by Fox 4 in Dallas.
You may remember Ms. Aguilar as the attack dog who managed to reduce an old man to tears on camera after he used lethal force to defend his property from criminals.
But wait, is Fox 4 really rid of her?
Aguilar, who hired an attorney after the suspension, declined to say whether she'd take any legal action against Fox4. "Let me just put it this way," she said. "I'm going to use any method I can to regain my reputation."
Time will tell whether Aguilar is able to force the station to rehire her. Having been the chosen as the Hispanic Journalist of the Year won't hurt if she gets the right judge.

I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. When this all blew up, she was quietly suspended and Fox 4 refused to talk about it. I regularly visited their web site looking for a report on this story. There was none. There still is no word even to this day. They still have her on their web site as if she is one of their model reporters. I grew tired of watching for any comment from Fox 4 and wrote it off that we would never find out what happened.
I find it funny how the media can get into other people's faces and dog them at their homes, and work, and even when they go shopping, but when the tables are turned, there is no intensive investigation publicly humiliating anyone who works for the MSM.

I think what some news media people do is abusive, but if they are in a minority group, it is allowed and they get a slap on the wrist, but if any of the caucasian reporter reduced a citizen to tears like that, not only would their career be over, but they would likely get sued.

Srong-arming the station into hiring her back is not going to do anything to help her reputation. Maybe she thinks "job" and "reputation" mean the same thing.
