Public Homosexual Acts to Be Legal in Amsterdam's Vondelpark
The Telegraph confirms that public sex will be permitted under the new rules of conduct for Holland's best-known park.
Amsterdam's beautiful Vondelpark in the centre of city draws hordes of summer visitors, families, skaters and joggers. But the park's rose garden has become famous as a trysting spot for gay men looking for uncomplicated sexual encounters.
Reasons Alderman Paul van Grieken:
Why should we try to impose something that is actually impossible to impose, which also causes little bother for others and for a certain group actually means much pleasure?
Not to worry, we haven't reached complete anarchy just yet. The Jim McCreepy types will be asked to clear their AIDS-infected condoms away. Also, dog owners will face stiff fines if they let their pets run around without a leash.
No picture for this one. You're welcome.
On tips from Bill V, V the K, and Wiggins.

But they did outlaw sex with animals.

If that is the park by the Van Gogh museum, I stood there for over an hour watching the families ice skate!!! Man, how things change for the worst in that country! They are just crazy about homos and hemp.

Ok, even I have to draw the line when it comes to consenting adults. Get a hotel room or something for crying out loud. I'm sure there are clubs and the like that cater to people wanting to do this, but not in public. If the park were private property, that'd be different.

I do share your basic premise, thanks! Ironic that the park is "in the shadow' of the Van Gogh Mueseum.
Color me cynical that this was a cheap throwaway vote to the gay community -- yes you can, but you won't -- not after the inevitable 1st attack by Muslim youths.
In that case, do not hesitate to show pictures of the victims caught in the act.
What then will be the "brave" politicians' response?
1) finally find a backbone to stand up against the Islamofascists? Or,
2) blame the victim for inciting Islamic intolerance.
My money is on #2. Holland wasn't outraged when Theo was killed. But it was outraged at the extensive 24/7 protection required for Alysia (sp), and asked, no booted her from the country. Pity if it takes beaten/slain gays in the park to be their 9/11 moment.

I worked during my two weeks there. The Dutch are very cordial people, but have a different style work ethic (I was there during Carneval, and there were people I didn't meet until well into the second week! Too much partying!). I worked with an Islamic man and a Vietnamese man, and they both were very nice and helpful in letting me know where I could find things, etc. I think it is the extreme liberal government that is messing things up there. Otherwise, I really liked Holland. Talk about a sense of history. Amsterdam, if you overlook the red light district, fills you with the sense that you are walking streets that have been walked for hundreds of years and seeing buildings that have been there a long time too. The oldest church in the Netherlands (in Hertogenbosch)has the date 1129 on the original cornerstone! It is a shame that no one can travel to Europe these days and feel safe. I have wanted to see Paris, Prague, Madrid, etc, just do a two week tour sometime, but alas, I don't have the nerve these days.
