Hash, what's the difference between the discipline of the marines (or any other branch of the forces, for that matter) and the discipline of tae kwon do or some other martial art? Both cases involve learning how to kill people as efficiently as possible and both cases require a great deal of self-control. Both cases, in my experience, tend to produce people who are highly aware of themselves and more balanced as a result... with the odd exception of course, but that's human nature. There are always nutjobs. What's remarkable about such things isn't that there are nuts present in, say, the marine corps but that they are far less prevalent in such places than the average.

Oh yes, Battlestar Galactica! Its no accident they announced the series was being cancelled due to low ratings after Season 3 aired.
