Moonbat Court Commissioner Marilyn Mackel Denies Foster Child Right to Join Marines
Shawn Sage of Simi Valley has long dreamed of joining the Few and the Proud. Problem is, he's a foster child, so being 17 he can't sign up without the court's permission — which has been denied in a gesture of sedition:
In denying the Royal High School student delayed entry into the Marine Corps, Children's Court Commissioner Marilyn Mackel reportedly told Sage and a recruiter that she didn't approve of the Iraq war, didn't trust recruiters and didn't support the military.
"The judge said she didn't support the Iraq war for any reason why we're over there," said Marine recruiter Sgt. Guillermo Medrano of the Simi Valley USMC recruiting office.
The delayed enlistment program would allow Sage to finish his high school degree, lock in the sniper position he has his heart set on, and receive guidance from the Marines to prepare him for when his service would start. Sage's decision to join the Marines is fully supported by his foster parents.
By doing her part to undermine the war effort, Mackerel could be costing Sage a $10,000 signing bonus. At least she's a nondiscriminatory treasonous moonbat: she also denied delayed enlistment to "an eager Navy recruit." Her motives couldn't be more clear. Reports Sage's recruiter Medrano:
I even told Shawn, I said, "Dude, it feels like we've been burned at the stake at the Salem witch trial." She just had some kind of animosity toward military personnel.
This animosity is inherent to Mackerel's moonbat ideology: Ft. Hard Knox describes her as "a supporter of the ACLU and a Black Activist" who enjoys raving about "post-traumatic slavery disorder" and is the "contact person for the gay and lesbian law association."
The moonbat fifth column is broad, including city councils and domestic terrorists, in addition to judicial apparatchiks like Mackel. Very soon it may control the White House.

On tips from Ron C, Oiao, and Conan in Iraq.

Ridiculous.

FAIL.
He is not a "young man" yet. He's still a kid in the eyes of the law, which is why we have controls on this sort of thing.
Seventeen? That makes it WORSE, you clowns. That means he's chomping at the bit to kill, yet doesn't have the judgement or maturity to understand it's one lousy year he needs to wait.
There's seriously something mentally defective with you chickenhawks for WANTING this kid in harm's way before he's even old enough to make the choice for himself.

I see the local nutcase has emerged from it's lair again. It's mother must be "occupied" with another paying customer.
Anyways, I had a principal who decided I was "wasting my potential" when I decided to enlist. So she decided to keep denying my last few credits I needed to graduate. This went on for a week as i kept getting new assignments to complete before she would give them to me. Finally i called the recruiter. He told me not to worry about it, it would be taken care. The next she called me in and informed me I had my credits. I found out right before I shipped that the Recruiting Battalion Sergeant-Major had called ripped her a new one. This was back in the '90s so I'm sure it's gotten worse now.

Let's clear up this entire "feeding the trolls" approach.
One of the greatest minds the human race has ever known was a Hebrew King who lived hundreds of years before Christ our Lord.
He is, even today, renowned for his unsurpassed wisdom. His wisdom is recognized by all thinking humans (including agnostics and atheists). His name was Solomon.
Solomon wrote a book called ‘Proverbs’ which is part of both Jewish and Christian scripture, and studied by seculars as well. Much of the book could be titled “Dealing with Fools for Dummies.”
In the book, Solomon warns against debating fools (dipshits) but encourages the wise to rebuke them. In a nutshell, he told us that we are obligated to call a dipshit a dipshit, but debating them reduces us to their level of foolery.
You cannot reason with someone who lacks capacity for reason. You can, however, tell them they are, in fact, fools (dipshits). It’s expected.
And that is your lesson for the evening.
Hashfanatic - you are the model 'fool' of which Solomon speaks. You are a shit-eating idiot.
And that's all I have to say about that. :-)

Jimbo, what you say is true, but understand, the fact you are referring to anything religious, will cause any liberal to refute your words. It's like trying to convince an atheist there is a God, by using the Bible.

"Its his life and his livelihood and for him to determine, you socialist fuckoff."
Not quite...Hint Number One should have been that a judge had to rule on the question!
(But, then again, there is reality, there are laws, and then there is moonbattery.com, where a scorched-earth mentality and violence at any cost, for no particular reason, are always in style!)
It's hysterically funny how some of you are so bitterly opposed to a woman's right to choose, yet, so, SO hungry to see an underaged kid's blood spilled in your hundred-year-jihad and the military-industrial complex meatpuppet slaughterhouse that was your only possibility and only chance at gainful, "productive" employment!.
I guess it's another case of "Save the fetus, then drop the brat on it's head, once it's born?"
The kid is not legally of age to make his choices yet (and is obviously not of sound mind), the judge was encharged with responsibility to dispense her judgement in the case, and she did.
End of story.
Get used to rationality and decency once more being the order of the day.
Bonzo is dead.

Hash's a real piece of work. He and his buddies on the truther sites all get together and yack about how the evil Powers That Be will take over and make some kind of New World Order. He thinks we're sheep who fall in line because we don't know better, and he loathes us for it. He's scared of the Jews because he thinks they're behind it all. They get together and call us "the enemy" and plot how they are going to start a revolution and take over. He's trying to sow seeds of discontent and fear. It's a classic psychological warfare tactic that people use to disarm their enemies. This is where the random, really venomous stuff comes from. Paranoia is a powerful motivator.

Perspective moment: the average age of enlistment in the British Armed Forces is 17. Legal age of majority - when you can join up, amongst other things - is 16. This "kid" may be a child in the eyes of the law but on the provided evidence he is probably better equipped to make decisions than this judge ever will be.

Wow. What started as comments on Court Commissioner Mackel's decision dissinetgrated into a mash bash mighty quickly. I wanted to say that I was a white foster parent of a black child, who due to Mackel's wise decisions, am now the adoptive mother of said child. I doubt she is anti-white or any kind of bigot. I sat in her court room many many times and was always impressed with how she thought out her decisions based on what was best for each child. I'm ready to read the abuse that will probably be heaped on me due to this; I respect and admire Commissioner Mackel.
Posted by: Cyndy at March 9, 2008 6:32 PM
I sat in her court room many many times and was always impressed with how she thought out her decisions based on what was best for each child.
And if that's the case, fine. Then it's her responsibility to say why joining the DEP is not in this kid's best interest, based on law. The problem is that in this case she seems to have allowed her personal opionions about the Iraq war influence her decision, possibly costing Shawn Sage $10,000.
Posted by: Eric at March 9, 2008 8:00 PM
Eric, you beat me to the punch. The whole point of being a judge is to make decisions based of evidence and facts, not on your personal opinions. Mackel seemed to make her decision based not out of concern or fear for the kid's well being, but rather out of her own feelings about the Iraq war.
Posted by: conservativeteen at March 9, 2008 8:07 PM

Yea, I've gotta agree with Ian on this point.
Posted by: Brooklyn Red Leg at March 9, 2008 8:35 PM
But who was it addressed to?
And, are not the Bush Crime Family and the Republican establishment in actuality promoting evil schemes like the North American Union, the Amero, and one-world government concepts like open borders and unfettered free trade themselves?
I am assuming that Ian is referring to England and, yes, that country's descent into forced multiculturalism and loss of it's national and cultural character is a tragedy, but how exactly is the American right and the Republicans' "New World Order" nightmare exactly going to restore national sovereignity to European homelands when it has done nothing to prevent the decay so far, and has in fact hastened its spread?
Wouldn't individualized European nationalist activism in direct opposition to neocon globalist interests serve the individual peoples of Europe's sovereign nations and distinct cultures far more effectively than looking to America's so-called "gorgeous mosaic", when we cannot even secure our own borders and rein in our own illegal aliens and criminals?
I understand it is borne out of fear and desperation but this way of thinking makes no sense to me.
Posted by: hashfanatic at March 9, 2008 10:09 PM
Hash, the problem is, when nationalist movements try to get started people like you call them fascist and have them beaten up.
Posted by: Archonix at March 10, 2008 3:04 AM
Archonix, that's ridiculous. Just because you meet opposition doesn't mean the majority is necessarily against you.
When the musician Morrissey picked up and left England and pulled no punches about the cultural shifts and the invasion that caused him to leave, I didn't hear him denounced as a fascist.
It's not just England, either.
In Ireland, there is widespread disgruntlement of Polish "ethnic" aisles in Irish supermarkets, much like our Spanish ones here....nobody's going to get far calling the Irish "fascist" or even "commie" for voicing long-suppressed frustrations.
I understand Oslo now has increases in crime that are four times that of New York, because of unfettered immigration and the nationals forced to accept "world" ideas of what is acceptable or not.
I see much guff being spoken here about the "Minutemen", but very little lasting histrionics toward them...
So, how are the nations to survive and preserve their nationality, if not for nationalist activism, as politically incorrect as it may seem?
My point is, don't look to the US or any "New World Orders" to help you out, because it's not your sovereignity they are out to preserve in the first place.
Posted by: hashfanatic at March 10, 2008 5:44 AM
Its interesting to see the ignorant and badly educated presuming to lecture about things which they really cannot grasp but parading their "feelings" about as if this constitutes knowledge or reasoned debate. Its obvious that some people have more than a passing knowledge of crime families and the correctional system.

Eric and Conservativeteen, thank you for not blasting me. I think perhaps you are formulating your opinions only on what you have read in the newspapers or heard on talk radio. Yes, by what we learn from these sources, it does SEEM like Mackel based her decision on her personal feelings about the war. Please understand that she serves in Family Court, where she can not, by law, comment on her decisions in public, as that would be considered a violation of the minors right to privacy. She is not, however, barred from expressing her personal opinions on subjects of relavence. Nor are we.
The minor in this case had the opportunity to have Mackel's decision appealed within 30 days.
I don't know if he did or not, but it SEEMS he wanted to have his case heard in the public sqare, which he has. I wish this could happen without disparaging a Commissioner who was voted onto the bench in 2002 and has been charged with making thousands upon thousands of decisions. By the way, did you read about Mackel's previous jobs? She was a social worker, a parole officer, and a Court Referee before she was a Commissioner. I think she has earned her position of authority. Cyndy

As I said before, she may be a wonderful person in all other respects. Please understand how it looks though. The kid's foster parents supported his enlistment. I posted a story above about another government beuracrat who almost cost me a fairly decent enlistment bonus.
On top of her known opposition to the war she seems to have all sorts of connections to several far left groups. Frankly I don't think a judge should be allowed to be a member of any polotical organization, right or left. What really bothers me, and i think most conservatives, is that we have another judge basing her decision on a far-left agenda rather than doing her job. It's really emblamatic of the Culture War at large, with a 17 year old kid caught in the crossfire.

As you know, anyone can accuse anyone else of anything, especially when there are no repercussions for the accuser. Is Mackel really left wing? Is she really the contact person or even a member of the organizations she has been rumored to be? Who knows. What I do know is, foster kids have their own set of really tough issues, and the longer they are in foster care, the more compound the problems. Foster kids get bounced from worker to worker and family to family far to often, but they keep the same commissioner through-out. It's probable that Mackel has this kid on her docket since he was 12 years old. And who knows how long he was in out of home care before that. Or why he was removed from home? Cases come up for review at least every 6 months. Mackel knows his whole history; she can't tell anyone, but she knows.
It may be that she knows he exceptionally immature (he IS quoted as saying that he wanted to join the Marines since he saw the movie "Full Metal Jacket".) She would be the one to know about any possible mental health issues, not a recruiter (who certianly has his own agenda). As for his foster parents supporting his decision, they know he is ageing out of the system. There is no support system in place for kids in his position, they are basically on their own, and the service can SEEM like any easy out when there seems to be no where else to go. Time will tell how this young man fares. I hope the publicity this case received will be to his ultimate benefit. I wish him well. I wish Commissioner Mackel well too.
Posted by: Cyndy Spang at March 11, 2008 5:01 PM
To Who It May Concern:
I surprisingly agree with Commission Mackel in her final dicsion to not to allow Shawn Sage to join the Marine Corp under the age of 18 years of age, depite the fact that my case CK69834 is presently in her court room 402, and we a lot of the times don't see eye to eye.
I strongly agree that the marine recuiters are nothing more than money hungry salesmen, wanting to recuit teenagers to live out brokens promises of stardom, fame and fortune that is pushed like a cheap Hollywood movie. Let's get real poeple- why would Commissioner Mackel want to sign a child off to war. so that he or she would be in harms way of losing his or her own life.I don't think so.
Commissioner Mackel's job is to protect our children from being taken off to a Fantasy Land. Plus, if she were to sign off, thereafter, every recuiter would be in her court asking for more of our young people to go to war.And I for one along with Commissioner Mackel stand together.
I also agree with the bailiff, I am not sure which one, that shared his story about his son.
So everyone including the Marine recuiter needs to stop critizing Mackel's protective decision. If this teenager really wants to join the marine he can do so on his own when he's 18 years old.
Everyone needs to stop over reacting to the right decision that was handed up.
I'm sure I'll get a lot of negative respones. But I wonder if the ones who are over-reacting have children of their own like I do?
Sincerely
Ray Travis
