Local Global Warming

With even the U.N.'s IPCC admitting that global warming simply isn't happening, the media has been reduced to digging for evidence of local global warming.

I was startled to learn that here in the Southwest, the phenomenon has reached crisis proportions without my even noticing. Allegedly the temperature in the Colorado River Basin during 2003-2007 was 2.2°F hotter than the twentieth century average, which we're asked to believe has been causing economic havoc in the country's fastest growing region.

Next they'll attempt to induce panic by reporting that March has been warmer than February.

On a tip from Wiggins.

"Local Global Warming?" Is that like being World Famous in Poland? Is that like MSNBC being the highest rated network in the world among 36-to-54 year olds who live in their parents basements?

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton wants to reform health care, but can't even pay the health insurance premiums of her own staff.

LOL@ V the K!!! They have really gone into desparation mode, eh?

Oh, Shillary's who campaign is about 6 MIL in the hole. Couldn't happen to a finer gal!

"local global"

Right.

Let's see now. If the average global temp is the same and there is some "local global warming" then to keep the avg, there must be some "local global cooling" eh?

Um, isn't this the EXACT SAME argument you made last week that's been roundly disproved?

Why are we repeating a discredited report? It makes our wingbat site look silly.

You can't just pick out one point of data that fits your pre-defined conclusion to use as "proof" of your conclusion.

The cited article quotes Jennifer Marohasy, a biologist at Melbourne-based think tank the Institute of Public Affairs. Marohasy was asked: "Is the Earth stillwarming?"

She replied: "No, actually, there has been cooling, if you take 1998 as your point of reference. If you take 2002 as your point of reference, then temperatures have plateaued. This is certainly not what you'd expect if carbon dioxide is driving temperature because carbon dioxide levels have been increasing but temperatures have actually been coming down over the last 10 years."

But look at the long-term trend. Using the same technique of selectively using data from 2000 (mid-way between Marohasy's 1998 and 2002 points), the data shows a major unambiguous jump in air temperature.

More importantly, the longer term trend is unmistakeable.

I'm surprised I need to point this out to you. You're making us TRUE CONSERVATIVES look lame.

And making Al Gore look like a genius.

And people say I'M dumb.

Dan Quayle, personally, I think the Goracle is a waaaay bigger idiot than you are! (Just making a joke!) Actually, you make an interesting point.
