Fumigation Still Required at New York Governor's Mansion
Nice as it is to be rid of Love Client #9, the Governor's mansion in New York still requires a visit from the Orkin man. To forestall scandalous revelations, new Governor David Paterson has admitted that he and his wife have had an open marriage. Nonetheless, he won't admit to a romance with former track star Diane Dixon, to whom he just handed a government job.
Dixon says she has incriminating tapes. But she's happy with the taxpayer-financed job, so it looks like they won't ever see the light of day.

On a tip from Byron.

So, I don't get it. Now we hate people for telling the truth? Man, it's hard to be a TRUE CONSERVATIVE.
Sure, there's real danger when an Elliot Spitzer lies about a hooker, and hides the transfer of tens of thousands of dollars -- he'd be a ripe target for blackmail which could lead to worse things.
But who's getting hurt here?
And why do we tolerate and celebrate TRUE CONSERVATIVES like Larry Craig who hide their homosexuality? Why is that man still in office? He is now subject to blackmail, other crimes, and will continue to be an ineffectual lawmaker.
Let me say that there are many other Republicans having extramarial affairs, and many more that are closet homosexuals, and still more that hide their drug abuse problems. Seems to me it's these people HIDING their problems are the true danger, rather than those brave enough to reveal the TRUTH.
(By the way, I'm not in any of these categories. Except the truth one.)

A little bit of sanity out of Philly.
Ruling: English-only sign at cheesesteak shop not discriminatory
Joe Vento posted the signs at his shop in October 2005. They read "This is AMERICA: WHEN ORDERING 'PLEASE SPEAK ENGLISH.'"

How about Jefferson 'Freezer Money' Davis? Why is he still in office?

No one is getting hurt but its just another sign of the moral decline of America where things like marriage are pretty much meaningless. You hit a rough patch so you just sleep around? Nice message. Granted its nothing criminal, its just sad.

"Granted its nothing criminal, its just sad."
Anon, no truer statement can be made about the whole deal.

"And why do we tolerate and celebrate TRUE CONSERVATIVES like Larry Craig who hide their homosexuality?"
Well Dan, I haven't seen anyone of the conservative vein "celebrate" Larry Craig??? If you have seen it, post a link, as I would be keenly interested in seeing. I don't think anyone is tolerating him either. He was shown the Congressional Code and asked to resign, but there is obviously no laws in place to force him out! It is up to his constituents to apply the pressure to make him "go away". Could end up like Ted Kennedy... drive off a bridge, get yourself out of the car and swim to safety and let the young aide die and run away from the scene. That should of been a political career "Show Stopper" but the people of MA keep him coming back.

Oh, and by the way, it is the spitting out a particle of truth one day, and then letting the floodgates open a few days later that concerns me.
But I do appreciate the fact he is trying to be up front. It's just hard for some to do it all at once I guess.
