Econazis Target Marlins Pitcher Logan Kensing for Protecting Ranch from Wild Pigs
Posted by Dave Blount at March 10, 2008 9:32 AM
Florida Marlins relief pitcher Logan Kensing's family owns a ranch in Texas. To keep rapidly breeding wild pigs from wreaking havoc, Kensing thins their numbers from a helicopter. According to the militants at the Palm Beach County Environmental Coalition, this will not do.
Growls co-chair Barry Silver:
We want the Marlins to make him agree to stop. […] If they don't, we will be persistent. We'll infiltrate the fans and pull out signs. We'll picket. If we're willing to have 27 people arrested, it's obvious we're committed.
It's certainly obvious that they ought to be committed. Next we'll have plants' rights advocates demanding that farmers stop killing weeds.
Predictably, this opportunity to restrict our freedom in the name of moonbattery has aroused interest in the Government. Dan Liftman, an aide to bribe-soliciting impeached ex-judge and current Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL), thinks Kensing is "pretty sick" for shooting the pests from the air:
When killing becomes mechanized, it's all too easy. Scientific literature makes it clear that when someone engages in violence against animals, that person is more likely to commit violence against people.
Let that be a warning to batters who try to crowd the plate when Kensing comes in to pitch.

On a tip from Lyle.
