Cop-Killer Mumia Abu-Jamal Given Another Break
The boobs running our judicial system continue to dither around concerning the case of Mumia Abu-Jamal, who with the help of overwhelming evidence was convicted of murdering Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner a generation ago.
The psychopathic Abu-Jamal is in a class with Tookie Williams when it comes to personifying the reason we need the death penalty. Yet a federal appeals court has refused to reinstate the death sentence he so richly deserves.
No one in his right mind doubts Abu-Jamal's guilt. The court upheld his first-degree murder conviction. It's just a question of how seriously we want to take shooting police officers in the back. The race card is being played yet again, with Judge Thomas L. Ambro whining that blacks weren't given a chance to apply jury nullification to the case of a brother killing a white cop.
The odds that this scum won't die of natural causes are long. In the meantime, maybe he can tape some more college commencement addresses, as he has for U.C. Berkeley, Antioch College, Occidental College, and Evergreen State College.

On a tip from Byron.

A halt in the mental and moral decay of our society would have to come about before termination of this bag of body fluids could be seriously considered.
Unlikely.

Moral of the story is:You can get away with being a cop-killer, a racist, and an anti-semite, but only if your black

On a related note: Al Sharpton and the NAACP rally in support of brutal rapists. Seems wrong to me, but then, I'm just a typical white person.

If only Mumia Abu Jamal had murdered a homosexual or abortion Doctor. Then the sicko moonbats would be screaming for his head.

I am rummaging through the left-o-sphere, trying to find their thoughts, which will certainly be pro-Mumia, probably proclaiming this a huge win for justice! Nutjobs all.

Al Sharpton and the NAACP cannot survive without hate. It is their career. If they cannot find it, then they must create it in order to stay employed.
They truly fear a just society. Because then they would have to get real jobs.

Yep, you're right. What worries me is that there is nothing ANYONE can do about it.

I am against the death penalty, but recognize that Mumia is guilty. he should spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Why do Christians advocate the death penalty? I thought only God was suited to make decisons regarding life and death. Thou shalt not kill and all that.

It's nice to see you ask a question reasonably for once, so I'll oblige with an answer.
More accurate translations of the 10 Commandments have the Sixth Commandment as "Thou shall not murder", which is a big difference from a blanket no killing commandment.
For NT justification, which is quite explicit, see Romans 13:3-4.

I am with Jesse Ventura on this one.
Until life in prison MEANS life in prison, we will need the death penalty.

To be honest HashFan, I used to feel that the death penalty went against Christ's teachings, and it made no sense to teach young people that "killing is wrong" and so you are going to kill the person that kills... but, then a close friend's grandmother was brutally murdered and raped by a 15 year old. I started paying more attention to they dynamics that go on with the surviving families of the murder victims. I still wrestle with it all. I personally think the killer gets off the hook when they get the death penalty. I somehow think that living out the rest of their lives in an 8 x 4 cell with restrictions on what they can have and having to think about the fact they can't ever leave, can't ever be with their families or loved ones, and to have to think about the lives they took... well, that is more of a punishment than putting them out of their misery, because let's face it, most are miserable, hate filled human beings who can kill for no real purpose and not care about a fellow human being's suffering. I would never feel compelled to protest capitol punishment in light of the fact the victims families many times feel relief and closure once the killer is gone. It should be left to the court, the judge and the survivors of the victim IMHO.
