Churchill on the Moon
The ignorance of children offers a chilling indication of where Britain is headed as moonbattery rots the foundations out from under it:
One in three youngsters believes wartime prime minister Sir Winston Churchill was the first person to walk on the Moon. Worryingly, nearly three-quarters can't even identify the Moon in the night sky[…]
But no doubt the kids could tell you all about how car exhaust is killing the polar bears.
On a tip from furballz.

That's unbelievable. I wonder who the 1400 children surveyed were, certainly not representative of the most of the UK....maybe it was "multicultural" London.
Although when my son was little, he did tell me that Stretch Armstrong was the first man on the moon :D

A little Sir Winston Churchill quote would be in order I think. :-)
"A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject."
"All great things are simple, and many can be expressed in single words: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope."
"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
(you could replace "appeaser" with "apologist")
and one more:
" He has all the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire. "

Thanks KHarn, I have been a fan since I was a child. Something about hearing those speeches on the old news reels, he was an awesome man. The children in the UK are getting hosed out of one of their greatest legacies.

Whenever one sees a survey, the first question that should come to mind is, "Who sponsored this 'survey'?"
This "survey" was sponsored by the new Power Rangers DVD, Operation Overdrive, with the stated goal, "To help boost childrens' knowledge of astronomy, the Power Rangers brand has teamed up with the British Astronomical Society to create a guide to the stars using the popular TV characters."
That pretty much says it all. The people taking this "survey" had a vested interest in the childrens' ignorance.

Car exaust kills Polar Bears? I thought it was directly attributed to Al Gore's breath.

I wonder how old the kids were too? When I was around 5 or 6 years old, I tried to fly like superman off the barn because I believed could be done if I got high enough. I was not hurt but Mom never got over it. All my kids are grown now but I remember some of the answer I got from them when they were little. Once when my youngest son came home with a D.A.R.E. shirt (An anti-drug program at his school) with "DRUG FREE" on the front, I ask him what that was, He said he guess they gave people drugs for free.
Once again, how old where the kids?
