Ban Ki-moonbat's Solution to Food Shortages: More of the Bureaucracy That Caused Them

Posted by Dave Blount at March 12, 2008 11:21 AM

Worldwide, the price of food has been rising alarmingly. This is largely because global warming hysteria has enabled the boondoggle by which authoritarian bureauweenies use our money to subsidize inefficient biofuels, so that food goes into gas tanks instead of people's bellies. It is also due in part to authorities meddling with the free market in unhelpful attempts to address the food shortage.

No agency has done more to hype the global warming hoax than the United Nations, so it's fitting that top U.N. bureauweenie Ban Ki-moon should offer a solution. The first three steps are to:

  1. Give the U.N.'s World Food Program more money.
  2. "[S]trengthen U.N. programs to help developing countries deal with hunger."
  3. Address "the long-term consequences of climate change" — i.e., continue pushing the global warming farce.

They didn't make Ki-moonbat Secretary-General for nothing. He understands the vicious cycle that allows parasitical bureaucracies to continue metastasizing until they finally kill their host. It works like this:

  1. Bureaucrats invent a nonexistent problem, like global warming.
  2. Heavy-handed attempts to fix the imaginary problem create real problems.
  3. These real problems are used to justify bureaucratic expansion.
  4. More bureaucracy leads to more problems, requiring more bureaucracy.

Through this process, even the constitutionally lean American government has been allowed to bloat into a monstrous obscenity that will be our country's downfall.
