William F. Buckley Jr., RIP

The world is a poorer place today, as a result of William F. Buckley Jr. having passed away. Buckley is famous for his intention to stand "athwart history, yelling Stop" — by which he meant, stop the advance of the moonbattery that has been steadily eroding our civilization.

At the time he founded National Review in 1955, Buckley's task seemed hopeless, as nearly everyone regarded the pointless slavery of socialism to be humanity's inevitable fate. Yet thanks to the life Buckley breathed into it, conservatism staged a remarkable comeback, culminating in the Reagan Administration.

Today Western Civilization's situation seems hopeless once again. But we owe it to William Buckley to carry on the struggle.

No doubt Daily Kos, HuffPo et al. are brimming over with satanic glee at the death of this great man. At the moment, I don't have the stomach to look.

VH, I appreciate you stomaching the endless depravity of the Kos children, DUmmies and HuffPoopers, since I can't bring myself to wade into those sewers of insanity myself for too long. William F. Buckley jr. was indeed a great man. A man who's legacy of human dignity and intellectual superiority, will endure long after the hysterical braying of the most elite leftist intellectuals has been discredited.

I can only imagine the kind of things that will show up on Moonbat sites like KOS. More than likely it will involved abuse of a corpse, various perversions and celebration. Of course Hash head wont find any problem at all with that. In fact he will probably laugh alot.

I propose we honor this great man's integrity and dignity by ignoring the obvious vehement troll posts that will undoubtedly appear here within the next few hours and days. He will be missed by those of us who cherish his noble spirit, his undying love for intellectual excellence, and his belief that man is at his best when he is free to legally persue his ambitions.

Although... I bet he would have enjoyed taking a few chunks out of the people who would be quick to cast some of their misdirected self-loathing upon him.

BBC attempts to warn people that English will become the universal language.

Come on BBC, how is this bad at all? The language barrier that stopped travel and relations between people of different countries is finally going to be destroyed and your worried about it.

RIP, Mr. Buckley.

I miss the presence of conservatives that mattered.

Wow... monsterforge, that is beautifully stated, and I agree with it all. God Bless and RIP William F. Buckley, Jr.

There was always something about listening to such a brilliant man articulate that was comforting and fun, even when I resided on the liberal side (aka The Dark Side). He shall be dearly missed.

Me neither. However, according to LGF, HuffPo has turned their comments off for this story, knowing how the latter's constituency would reveal their true, hateful and poisonous nature, thereby embarrassing themselves.

The man made a difference and use his personal wealth effectivly to better the world.

There are not many of the old guard left.

hash, that's a nice sentiment ["RIP"], but which Conservatives are those that don't "matter"? Likely you have in mind one Ronald Reagan? Hate to tell you, but Mr. Buckley would vehemently disagree with you there . . .

Mr. Buckley will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathies and condolences for his family and friends.

Thank you Hash. Now keep away from the pipe for a few more days. Before you know it, you'll find yourself in church on Sunday morning, reading the Wall Street Journal and pull the "R" lever in the voting booth.

RIP in peace to any person dying. To say anything else is disgusting.

Let me add, he was truly a brilliant man.

Burrning hot, you are rubbing me wrong on this.

How dare you? That is wrong.

First off, I laughed. And to be not so somber I do feel bad about his passing, but guess what?, most of us are going to die someday.

But on a serious note, I need help with English, do you use a capital letter after a question or is that like a period?

I meant I laughfed at your stupid response. Not at him in anyway. The guy seemed a decent guy, believed in his way,

your kind will be truly missed in this day and age.

I liked to read his columns, the man had a certain smarts and honor. I wished more of you would read his stuff and not buy into this polical crap that has infested ALL of us.

Even truer today than it was when he said it.

Like the sun rising in the East you can count on the lefty haters to revel in the death of their ideological rivals with their hatescreeds and comments

While at dinner with Mr. Buckley and acquaintances, one of our party, an ancient and self-distinguished moonbat (full professor), loudly announced that he had held the greatest admiration for the moral character of Jimmy Carter.

"Not too ambitious are you?" Buckley cooly responded.

Relishing I suppose, the silence that followed and while lighting up a cigar, Buckley executed one of those characteristic eye twinkles.

Bill, it was a pleasure.
