UN Goons Vandalize Ancient Art
There's more to the United Nations than denouncing America, raping children and jetting around the world to global warming blabfests in tropical locales. It has been making its mark by vandalizing ancient art:
Spectacular prehistoric depictions of animal and human figures created up to 6,000 years ago on Western Saharan rocks have been vandalised by United Nations peacekeepers[…] Graffiti, some of it more than a metre high and sprayed with paint meant for use for marking routes, now blights the rock art at Lajuad, an isolated site known as Devil Mountain, which is regarded by the local Sahrawi population as a mystical place of great cultural significance.
The graffiti artists proudly sign their handiwork, making them easy to identify as UN officers, who came to the area to monitor a ceasefire between Morocco and a separatist group. As usual, they seem unable to make themselves useful. One vandal, a major from Kenya, had just completed a UN course on "Ethics in Peacekeeping."
Unlike the Taliban's destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas, this story is unlikely to attract much attention in the fawning mainstream media. Most people are probably unaware that a year ago, the UN admitted to having to chastise 200 of its troops for sex offences, prominently including raping children, or that peacekeepers were recently caught trading weapons with Congolese militia.
Fortunately America is ready to handle any real crisis that emerges, since the UN is ineffectual at anything other than lining the pockets of corrupt bureauweenies and providing a soapbox for loathsome demagogues like Al Gore.
Any politician serious about cutting government waste should start with the low-hanging fruit by abolishing all American funding of the farcical and pernicious UN immediately.

That our politicians(from both sides) continue to genuflect toward the UN, not to mention funding fully 25% of their insidious operations, most of which are counter to American interests, literally makes me sick.....well figuratively makes me sick, literally makes me pissed, but still.

What a great spot for a strip mall.
I visited it while in NY on business once. It was a dump then and that was, like... '91 or 2.
But they had lots and lots of pretty flags... :-) (snicker)

If there was ever a ideal location for the USAF to have a weapons malfunction, say the accidental release of a GBU-42 Massive Ordnance Airburst Bomb (MOAB), the UN headquarters would be the spot.
