The High Price of Moonbattery

This picture of the oil refinery fire in Big Springs, Texas comes compliments of Dwaine, who makes an excellent point:
When I see things like this, I can't help but think what it would be like if Al Gore had gotten into office. The price of gasoline would go through the roof, not because of the price of oil, but because of the massive Carbon Credits oil companies would have to purchase for accidents like this.
No doubt energy companies would be driven into bankruptcy by punitive taxation — the better to nationalize the entire industry.
We dodged a bullet in 2000. But we're a long way from out of the woods.
