San Franfreakshow Eco-Nazis Root through Garbage

To advance its fanciful goal of recycling 75% of all waste by 2010, San Francisco bureauweenies are now rooting through people's garbage in search of items that should have gone in the recycling bin.

Those who have failed to sort their garbage in accordance with the latest regulations first get a note, then a letter, then a knock on the door by the Garbage Police. Fines will soon follow.

CBS 5 has a video report, featuring a guy who claims to have been framed by someone else using his trash can. Tell it to the judge!

Jimmy is a good boy. He won't get a knock on the door.

On a tip from Kristy.

Living in Alabama, I'm generally hesitant to compare my state with others, but damnation am I glad I live in a solidly red, and therefor sane, state! Rifling through peoples' garbage to find recycling offenders? That has to be a joke.

If a guy rifled through the garbage around here, he might get shot at, or if he's lucky, get arrested for being a vagrant.

Alabama, the sane state....BWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

A long history of corruption free, sane government in ALabama...I can't stop laughing.

Anyway, this is the law in San Fran. As you dorks always say, if you don't like it, move.

simple, huh?

Yet another reason that a 1906 type quake wouldnt be a bad thing.

Most Americans can not afford to live in San Francisco. It is one of the top 3 cities in wealth.
In many many other cities recycling is also mandatory. Putting such things as hazadorus waste in trash is no longer either acceptable or legal.
Feeling such regulations should not be enforced is outside of mainstream American values.

Funny how when it comes to freakish cities like San Francisco - they sau "Its the law, if you dont like it move". But when liberal freakazoids come to a normal middle american town, they say "Change you law to reflect our perverted views or we will sue you in court and force you to change!"

Posted by: Anonymous at February 21, 2008 10:09 AM

"This is all efforts on the part of the city to find creative unusual and different ways"...
TO PINCH $$$ OUT OF IT'S WORKING AND PRODUCTIVE SERFS TO FUND ANY TWOSOME NEWSOME'S HIGHLY OVERPAID ENVIRONAZI APPOINTMENTS ON HIS STAFF!
This is like the slippery slope which redlight cameras have shown. They ticket the owner of the car, not the driver. Here they fine the owner of the garbage can for recyclables that someone else may have placed there. Notice the brown paper bag looks like it's from some Hippy-mart. Looks like all citizenry are gonna have to padlock their garbage cans to avoid this scenario. It must be nice to live in a utopia like San FranSicko where all the problems with the city have been solved and the only crime is some poor unsuspecting schlub tossing a plastic bottle in his garbage can and not his recycling bin. At least Alabama is not as backward as San FranSicko.
And it does look like Alabama is way more sane than California.

It's times like these I'm glad my town doesn't offer garbage pickup and we either have to haul it to the dump ourselves or hire a private company to do it. My garbage is kept in the garage until I go to the dump, so if anyone goes through my trash, they're definitely trespassing.

Posted by: Pam at February 21, 2008 10:15 AM

Funny how wing nuts talk all kinds of shit about abiding by the laws of the country or place that you live in when concerning immigrants or Mulsims or whatever. Yet as soon as they are confornted with a law they don't like they start hurling the old "commie" insult around at anyone nearby.

look, this is the law in San Fran. The majority of citizens approve of this law. If there is no consequence for violation of this law, well it probably won't be very effective, will it? I mean this is the same kind of shit you always say, right?

If the people don't of San Francisco do not approve of this law, their are means within a democratic society, to have the law rescinded. Simple shit. No story here. More hyperbolic hysteria from our host.

Posted by: hashfanaticFAN at February 21, 2008 10:19 AM

I believe it would be more affective if there were a reward system for recycling rather then a punishment for not recycling a certain type of waste. Again this is similar to prohibition. Making a criminal out of a otherwise innocent person doesn't make any sense. And new crimes could arise such as the one mentioned above where someone could wrongfully use another's trash bin.

Posted by: UCA at February 21, 2008 10:53 AM

Its funny how liberal tards like hashead and his twin love to talk about dealing with the laws of the place you live in, but when the laws dont match their way of thinking they threaten legal action using aholes like John Edwards. Its either you change your laws or go bankrupt defending lawsuits.

Posted by: Anonymous at February 21, 2008 11:00 AM

Sp, nazism comes to San Francisco with peace sign instead of swastika.

I'm sure hash and pals would have no trouble with anything the nazis did. After all, it was all legal.

"Most Americans can not afford to live in San Francisco. It is one of the top 3 cities in wealth."

Yeah, San Fran is proud of its progressive and tolerant thought, yet reality is that it is a segregated city with a tremendous disparity between rich and poor--probably one of the widest gaps in our nation. So much for progressive think and tolerance in the real world.

Omaha started the trash sorting thing back in the 1990's.

Posted by: Larry Sheldon at February 21, 2008 11:28 AM

look, this is the law in San Fran. The majority of citizens approve of this law.

The majority of citizens of some areas approved of Jim Crow laws too. Didn't make 'em right, did it? Have you heard of a little thing called "they tyranny of the majority", hash?

Posted by: Ian from the EUSSR at February 21, 2008 11:43 AM

or even, "the tyranny of the majority"

Posted by: Ian from the EUSSR at February 21, 2008 11:43 AM

HashTwattle, There is a big difference in breaking an immigration law and being here illegally and not paying taxes as oppossed to tossing in the rubbish a plastic milk jug. The first law is probably in the constitution, the second insipid law is one that is mandated by Gaia via The Goracle and purely revenue raising. If you can't see the difference then you can't be helped.

Posted by: Bryherb at February 21, 2008 12:11 PM

when the revenue from this new form of taxation in SF dries up because people are going out of there way to clean up garbage and make it pretty. SF will then mandate all garbage cans must be of a certain color and size, and then must be weighted at the curb, so anyone not having a state issued can will be fined and those having too much garbage will be fined.... OH WAIT THATS WHATS GOING ON IN THE UK!

now i get it.

Liberals are communists.

"Making a criminal out of a otherwise innocent person doesn't make any sense."

Umm that's pretty much what ALL laws do, you moron..I never cease to be amazed at the retarted, hypocritical blindness suffered by most of you.

Basically, you get to decide which laws you think are good ones and which ones are bad ones and rank them in order of importance as you see fit. If you don't like the law and it's not that important to you, you can disregard it. If you really like the law, then anyone who breaks it should be pretty much executed or tortured publicly, as I have seen advocated here. Then you get angry at groups for lobbying, using lawyers, and courtrooms to change the laws. Then we have Ian get all "tyranny of the majorIty" on us...And I'm a commie? BWABHHHAAa.

Majority rule, legal pressure to change laws,
law abidanace...I thought these were all good democratic practices...I guess only when it suits you..

Posted by: hashfanaticFAN at February 21, 2008 2:28 PM

So, in this thread, HFF is all about obeying the law.

In the other thread, he's all for giving a pass to illegal aliens.

If only left-wingers cared as much about making our neighborhoods secure from criminal aliens as they do about making sure our refuse is politically correct.

hfFAN:

UCA made a complete comment and you go and cherry pick it and then call UCA a MORON??? How completely libtard of you to be the Pot calling the Kettle black! I guess the entire comment they made just was too LOGICAL for you, eh.

Basically, * the law should be obeyed, * but maybe people should be "rewarded for obeying it", instead of treating people like criminals over "GARBAGE & TRASH". Your cherry picking and insults show everyone who the REAL MORON IS!!!!

Posted by: HoosierArmyMom at February 21, 2008 3:46 PM

They do the same thing here in Seattle, which uses San Francisco as a model. Here they want the garbage collectors to police what they are picking up. I have yet to witness our garbagemen showing the least bit of interest in what they are dumping into their trucks.

What I do is I bait the Illegals with a big bin of plastic and soda cans (each gets you $$ in CA for each unit, or by the pound).

As soon as they stick their hands into the bin, I yell at them and let my dog out (who knows to stop right at the edge of the sidewalk - well trained).

It is illegal for the illegals (redundant, no?) to steal from that bin, since the Garbage Comany counts on the revenue from the bin to offset the huge cost of processing it.

I've had the cops out a couple of times for this. Amazing that the cops will write tickets for stealing trash but won't for any number of other more obvious infractions. Follow the $$.

The Illegals know my house, me, my dog and my attitude and they steer well clear.

The family visits and loves the show on trash day.

Let's call this post illegal trash baiting.

Hash - I'm deadly serious, I do this and I think and laugh at asswhipe morons like you.

Posted by: Oiao at February 21, 2008 6:13 PM

hash family, I'll put it plain and simple: When the law prohibits homosexual sex and marriage, abortion and drug use, protest groups get all up in arms and threaten to sue the 'bigots'.

So we here at Moonbattery are just taking the fine example set by liberals.

Posted by: BUUUUURRRRNING HOT at February 21, 2008 6:18 PM

It's too bad so few people realize that recycling is almost as bankrupt a concept as global warming. With the exception of aluminum, none of the recycling programs are cost effective. Where I live, we have to pay a significant and increasing annual tax just to keep the stupid program going. Even paper recycling doesn't make any sense, since wood is the ultimate renewable resource and completely biodegradable. Trees are not endangered, and no logging company in their right mind would harvest their trees without planting new ones in their place.

It's just like liberals to obsess over and waste tons of time, energy, and other people's money on crap that doesn't matter, while ignoring or dismissing real threats to our quality of life, like terrorism, nuclear proliferation, illegal immigration, and out of control government growth.

Posted by: ent at February 21, 2008 10:13 PM

"Basically, * the law should be obeyed, * but maybe people should be "rewarded for obeying it", instead of treating people like criminals over "GARBAGE & TRASH". "

so Hoosierarmymom, you and UCA advocate REWARDING people for abiding by the law!!!

I'm a commie? Seriously, I've never heard of such a ridiculous concept in my life. Since when do people get rewarded for following the letter of the law. Why don't you advocate this practice for other types of crime? If you drive safely, you get a reward, if you don't kill anyone, you get a reward. If you rape anyone today, you get a reward.

Isn't this the exact kind of "moonbat" logic you guys claim to be rallying against.

Idiots.

Posted by: hashfanaticFAN at February 22, 2008 5:16 AM

Oh, I'm sorry hashmarkfan! I forgot what a heinous crime throwing plastic bottles in the trash bin was! Maybe fines being paid by everyday citizens isn't enough, maybe they should do serious time in the "big house". If you want a community to care about recycling, then those that do it well should get something for the effort as opposed to fines, unless of course you happen to be someone who hopes to get an "entitlement check" from the trash nazis. Comparing citizens misappropriating recyclables to the wrong bin to rapists, robbers and killers is as stupid as it gets!

Posted by: HoosierArmyMom at February 22, 2008 9:26 AM

Hash,
Not that your retarded comments towards me warrants a rebuttle, but I will explain. We want more people to recycle. It is good for the environment. I refuse to subscribe to the newspaper because of the huge waste, and I recycle aluminum. I get paid for the aluminum, hence reward.
Oh, and no. Laws weren't made to make the innocent criminals. They were made to prevent crime, with reasonable punishment. Punishing someone for not seperating their trash is not a reasonable act. Like for instance, giving a rapist life in prison or beating them to death with a baseball bat (Very reasonable).

And by the way, I fucked your mother last night!
lousy cunt.
