Richard Gere's Moonbat Cafe
Hollyweird flake Richard Gere — the guy who was booed off the stage by NYC firemen at a post-9/11 benefit — is opening a moonbat restaurant in Ancramdale, New York.
The Bedford Post Inn won't open its actual restaurant until summer at the soonest, but the bakery cafe is already in business. Features include locally grown food, geothermal HVAC systems, recycled beams and boards, yoga classes and Fair Trade coffee.
Maybe for a little extra, you could get a rubdown from the Dalai Lama. Let's hope the exterminator has checked for gerbils, just to be on the safe side.

On a tip from Wiggins.

Kind of reminds me when the Harri Krishnas built thier palace of Gold outside of Moundsville, WV arount 1980. It was located in the middle of nowhere off of US250.
So thier revenue stream was counting on Veggi Salad dishes and milk and cheese, as well as the obligatory donation to tour the palace.
Well, this was a story of 'if you build it, they still won't come.'
All of thier cattle got hepitas (or a bovarian variant of a similar virus), and had to be put down.
The palace basically starting falling apart do to substandard construction.
No one visited to eat a questionalble meal.......
The Krishnas started to defect by the dozen since they forgot to heat the place. You know, um, winter is cold..... Lots of them thumbing rides outta town.
Another Utopia dream commune down the drain.
Oh, did I forget to mention all the good ole boys with shotguns who these people moved in next to? Another story, another time.

Too bad, cause the guy is a decent actor (which he should stick to, I know), very handsome in his younger days. He seems to have gotten way off the track with his "conversion" to Tibet-lover and Dalai Lama acolyte many years ago (and while I agree with him that the PRC needs to get the hell out of Tibet, there's nothing Richard Gere can do, if he had an eternity of time, to force the ChiComs out of there, thus his constant and annoying advocacy on behalf of Tibet seems completely irrelevant, not to mention fruitless).
Looks like he's gone way over the edge with this new "Bed & Breakfast" thing (or whatever it is); too much free time, too much free cash - Moonbattery'll get 'ya, every time!

I agree, jc14 - he does his job well.
He actually does his religion well, also.
Good thing he decided to be Buddhist rather than a muslim, else he would have blown himself up in a Jewish nursery.

Have you ever noticed vegetarians, if they come over to your house, always expect you to make a special vegan dish for them... but if you go to their house, they get offended if *you* ask for something with meat in it?

I do see this as wrong, this is his religion.
I take the Glenn Beck religion stance, dont dis a religion. Not his words mine, but I think he would agree.

V the K,
Yes. I've gone to the point of bringing my own meat, pot and forks to my relatives.
(apologies in advance for the crudness of the next text)
What upsets me more is that they eat all that fiber and don't pass a bowel movement for a week, and then show up at your house to put a bomb in the pipes.
I've gotten to the point to where I borrow a power snake in advance. The little twit's (the female of the pair) husband has finally learned how to work it.
But, we go to thier house...........I bring my own meat.
Squirrel last time. Drove them nuts when I asked them for Chives for the sauce.

Will they be serving gerbils on a stick?

Amother depressing factoid from the UK:
"Female Muslim medics 'disobey hygiene rules'"

You know what the answer to that is? Muslim only hospitals.

I'm a vegetarian. Not because I love animals, but because I hate plants.

One wonders if by insulting others the insulter ends up feeling better about themselves ?

I suspect so, John Ryan. But you should ask a Liberal, they tend to fling insults and demands when asked for facts.
