Real Climate Change

Let's remember how hysterically bureauweenies, their media toadies and the government grant-happy science establishment have hyped the global warming farce, so we will know better than to take anything they say at face value after we've started to freeze. If there's any disastrous climate change in our future, it will be caused by the sun, and it will be a change for the colder:

Solar activity fluctuates in an 11-year cycle. But so far in this cycle, the sun has been disturbingly quiet. The lack of increased activity could signal the beginning of what is known as a Maunder Minimum, an event which occurs every couple of centuries and can last as long as a century.
Such an event occurred in the 17th century. The observation of sunspots showed extraordinarily low levels of magnetism on the sun, with little or no 11-year cycle.
This solar hibernation corresponded with a period of bitter cold that began around 1650 and lasted, with intermittent spikes of warming, until 1715. Frigid winters and cold summers during that period led to massive crop failures, famine and death in Northern Europe.

Unlike warm weather, cold weather really is a problem. Maybe be we can stave it off by driving SUVs and using incandescent light bulbs. But I sure doubt it, because the slight warming trend we've experienced has nothing to do with human activity:

[R]esearchers at the Max Planck Institute for Solar Research in Germany report the sun has been burning more brightly over the last 60 years, accounting for the 1 degree Celsius increase in Earth's temperature over the last 100 years.
R. Timothy Patterson, professor of geology and director of the Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Center of Canada's Carleton University, says that "CO2 variations show little correlation with our planet's climate on long, medium and even short time scales."

Patterson warns:

Solar scientists predict that, by 2020, the sun will be starting into its weakest Schwabe cycle of the past two centuries, likely leading to unusually cool conditions on Earth. Solar activity has overpowered any effect that CO2 has had before, and it most likely will again. If we were to have even a medium-sized solar minimum, we could be looking at a lot more bad effects than "global warming" would have had.

Fortunately the government will no doubt find a way to stabilize solar activity by raising taxes.

If only global warming were real.

There's been so many climate change stories on drudge and everywhere else that I think people are starting to get sick of them... If the world's going to hell in a handbasket, so be it. Leave me out.

For sheer gall, my favourite was the Royal Society "study" rushed out after The Great Global Warming Swindle, that with a straight face declared that the sun used to affect the climate in the past, but doesn't any more. This being the same sun which is the only source of energy input to the Earth. Remarkable.

Jay Guevara is a loser.

Democrat governor's aide assaults underage boy in steam room. Oh, BTW, he was *married* to another man. So much for the idea that gay couples really just want to be mainstream.

I think you mean "Che" Guevara is a loser.

He was gunned down like a dog, you know, and tossed aside like so much human trash, but he deserved WORSE than that.

The "W" is obviously short for WANKER. You may resume your wanking now.

W:
That was the most INSIGHTFULL observation on "global warming" I have ever read!
Got anymore?

So, we're looking at a replay of the "Little Ice Age," huh? Well, considering the correlation between Gore's visits to various cities around the world and the subsequent cold weather there, I can only conclude that Gore's very existence is the reason why the world is cooling.

Solution: Sacrifice Gore to the Sun Gods.

I think you mean "Che" Guevara is a loser.

No, sadly, he meant one of our resident posters, Jay Guevara. I assume W said this cause he is a douchebag that doesn't agree with Jay, who is either a conservative or a libertarian (I don't want to speak for him, so I'm not sure).

Great...things begin to cool off over the next 10-25 years, and the moonbats will take credit for it because they drove Prius hybrids, held vigils in a few trees in Berkeley and Santa Cruz, had their local officials ban plastic shopping bags, and smoked organically-grown Mary Jane.

The rest of lose the debate either way.

Man made global climate change is without a doubt a hoax. I don't what to add to this, this is a joke right?

Light a fire and curse winter, legistate moving leap year day to December as it has shown historical lower temps.

These people worship earth, not a bad thing, but sick they promote it like religion. I would respect atheists if they would just admit it was a reilgion also.

Thank you for your post, Parker. "Certain people" are beginning to realise that they've been duped (Too bad "Mister President" isn't one of them) and once they get over it, we'll be able to deal with the Earth's REAL problems.

I know I've said this before, but there will come a time when no one ever believed in global warming, no one funded it, no one researched it. It will all be quietly swept under the rug.
