Quote of the Day
As we watch our civilization voluntarily swirl down the toilet of moonbattery, at least we can console ourselves with laughter. EU Commission spokesman Johannes Laitenberger provides a howler:
European Commission competence is not negotiable.
Just using "European Commission" and "competence" in the same sentence is good for a few snickers. The quote comes in the context of the Czech Republic wanting to enter into a bilateral air security pact with the USA, as if it were still a sovereign country and not subordinate to the EU.
On a tip from mega.

I believe that quote says it all.

Just for non-subjects of the EUSSR, the term "competence" is a euphemism for, hmm, "power" or "sovereignty" over a particular issue. You americans will be discovering something similar as the North American Union gets underway. When the EU takes a power up up and away from a national government, they call that a "competence". So, for instance, they now have "competence" over foreign relations, which is why our quisling foreign secretary David Millipede needs to be sacked, since he signed his "competence" away. Although to be fair, he never had any in the first place. Ha ha.
There is a ratchet called the Acquis Communitaire. This is the principle that once a competence has been sublimated to Brussels, it cannot be returned. Competences only work one way. The states only have those competences that the EU has not yet taken. Once taken, they cannot be returned.
Thus, the state governments are hollowed out from the inside; thus leaving the illusion that there is still a national government (and thus placating the masses, hiding from them what is happening) while all their "competences" are gradually transferred to the Tranzi body. The parliament prance around, posturing and arguing and keeping up the illusion of a sovereign assembly, but in reality they have no competence. Ha ha again.
Let the EUSSR be a warning to you USAians. It won't be though; you'll vote for McCains and Clintons and Obamas and Bushes and then wonder where your sovereignty went. We are all frogs in gently warming water. Bilderberg, CFR, Trilateral Commission, tinfoil hat. There is no Illuminati Conspiracy; but there is a widespread acceptance of political transnationalism/supranationalism among the elites. We all need to find some way to start electing outsiders. The difficulty is finding outsiders who aren't also fruitbats with a million gibbering Troofers in their wake.

"...not negotiable"
Europeans had better get used to the phrase.

There is more than one oxymoron in the key statement. Just can't put my finger on it.....

Of course they can't negotiate their competence. It's at a value of zero no matter what measurement system you use, Imperial or Metric.
