Profiles in Countermoonbattery: Matthew Lee

Kudos to Matthew Lee of Inner City Press, who has managed to enrage the United Nations and get himself suppressed by the leftists at Google with his relentless digging into UN corruption, particularly at the money pit known as the UN Development Program.

Unfortunately Lee's informative journalism is harder to find, now that he's been delisted from Google News. He did ask for it:

In November 2007, during a press conference in which Google announced its partnership with the UNDP to achieve anti-poverty goals, Lee earned a less-than-friendly response when he asked why the Internet company hadn't signed a global human-rights and anti-censorship compact — elements in the U.N.'s Millennium Development Goals.

Bea Edwards of the Government Accountability Project is among those who suspect that Lee's site was delisted on behalf of the UN for airing its dirty laundry and serving as an outlet for whistle-blowers. Google has promised to un-delist it, but has been prevented by a "glitch."

Yahoo has been sued over its alleged involvement in China' human rights abuses.

A day may come when corporate executives at Google will need to answer in court for the role they may have contributed to human rights violations.
