Michelle Obama Finds a Redeeming Quality in America
Michelle Obama has been an adult since 1982. But it took until now for her to discover a reason to be proud of America. Here she is milking applause from Obama Nation:
For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country … not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.
The greatest country in human history has one redeeming quality from her point of view: it's willingness to change into some other country.
The significance of this remark can't be overstated. We are seriously considering turning over the leadership of America to people who despise it.

trust me, nobody wants the change...

Anybody who votes for BO after reading that his wife found no redeeming qualities in America for the last 26 years is a hopeless 'tard and deserves immediate, forced institutionalization.

She's led a privileged life and she's only NOW proud of her country? Liberalism really is a mental disorder, folks. Liberals can have all the money, privilege, and freedom in the world and yet they're still not happy. It's power that they crave.

If you were black maybe you would feel a little differently about America too. Show some intelligence VH and step into some else's shoes just once - who knows you mightlearn something VH - if you stop hating long enough that is.

It sounds like VH is afraid he might lose power -as if he has any......get a life VH

I am white - and I agree they are long over - but just 40 years ago blacks had very limited civil rights, were treated like trash and yet died in the battle field and paid full taxes.
We should be celebrating black achievement. Some blacks have overcome many obstacles including many created by their own people and culture.
Wishing it weren't so does not that facts go away.

As Scott Adams (writer of Dilber) says, people have a hardwired need to complain - no matter how well off they are.
So while starving Third World children complain that their corn is being used for biofuels, liberal Moonbat elites complain that they aren't woshipped as the gods they know they are.

Basically, the affirmative action programs that Lee and the Obamas champion mean rich black kids get preference programs and poor white and Asian kids get screwed. Great progress. But that really isn't the issue.
Mark Levin provides a list of things that should have made Michelle Obama proud to be an American, if she weren't a communist twat:
* Were you proud of this country when you graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 1985?
* Were you proud of this country when you graduated from Harvard Law School in 1988?
* Were you proud of this country when you were hired by the law firm Sidley Austin?
* Were you proud of this country when the Berlin Wall was torn down in 1989?
* Were you proud of this country when Colin Powell became the first black Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1989?
* Were you proud of this country when we liberated Kuwait from Saddam Hussein in 1991?
* Were you proud of this country after your husband was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996?
* Were you proud of this country when Colin Powell became the first black Secretary of State in 2001?
* Were you proud of this country after it came together following the 9/11 attacks?
* Were you proud of this country when -- despite Iran being our mortal enemy -- it led a massive international rescue operation after a devastating earthquake hit Bam in 2003?
* Were you proud of this country when your husband gave a Keynote Speech at the Democratic National Convention in 2004?
* Were you proud of this country when your husband was elected Senator in 2004?
* Were you proud of this country when Condoleezza Rice was named the first black, female Secretary of State in 2005?
* Were you proud of this country when Essence magazine named you among "25 of the World's Most Inspiring Women" in 2006?
* Were you proud of this country when Harvard named you amongst its 100 most influential alumni in 2007?
I'd add, I was proud when Americans donated over a billion dollars in tsunami relief in 2006 (that's private donation, not government). I was proud when American spacecraft sent the first live pictures from another planet (Mars). I was proud when Lance Armstrong one the tour de France seven times. And I'm proud that a poor kid like me from the sticks was able to work his way into a comfortable middle-class life and adopt a couple of foster kids on the way.
But, then again, I'm not a communist twat like Michelle Obama.

V the K,
Of course you have very good points above - but you are not black so you don't know what its like to know that your ancstors were murdered legally in the USA just b/c they were black -
No matter how you look at it - it is a stain - maybe not for you but for others.
Posted by: Lee at February 19, 2008 7:54 PM
If you and your ancestors were 2nd class citizens or worse - what difference does it make how much money the country that treated you as such gave to other countries?
Besides Michelle Obama said REALLY proud - not just proud. You might be twisting her words a bit.
Posted by: Lee at February 19, 2008 7:58 PM
I agree that rich black kids have it made and the poorer white kids get screwed under some AA programs. I experienced that first hand and its unfair. Those programs need to be tightly tailored.

V the K,
Awesome job man. Somebody needs to bring this point up in the big media. Even if it has to be Shillary.
What she said was horrible.
Won't win over many southern dems either.
Posted by: UCA at February 19, 2008 8:03 PM
It doesn't matter how good or how bad Braaaaaack (excuse me) Obama is.
If he doesn't win, there will be rioting, burning, looting, and the wholesale killing of white people.
Dipshits will see to it. Isn't that right, Lee? If he loses, it MUST be because whitey rigged the election, huh?

It's you who are out of touch.
If you're stupid enough to feel guilty about something that didn't happen to you, that you didn't do, and (likely) didn't happen in your lifetime that's your mental problem. Your whining makes you look like a fool.
I did grow up during segregation. I didn't do it, I don't feel any guilt about it and I don't owe anyone anything for it.
No one in America today has ever owned a slave or been a slave (unless they're immigrants from a Muslim country) and no one in America today owes anyone anything for slavery.
After a lifetime of privilege Michelle Obama is just now feeling some pride in America? And that pride is the result of her husband being a candidate for president? After years of blacks receiving preferential treatment? Quit your whining girlyboy. She's an ungrateful, unpatriotic hosebag.
Even though Osamadouche is adept at speaking for hours without saying anything it's become obvious what kind of change he has in mind for America. nanc is right; we don't want more socialism and racism. Make no mistake. The Obamas are virulent racists. Don't take my word for it, check out the church they've belonged to for over 20 years. If they didn't share the racist beliefs of that church they wouldn't be longtime members.

That angry black lady with a chip on her shoulder is within a stone's throw of becoming first lady of the United States. I suggest we all think about that for a moment, and then we can resume our arguments about whether or not we should feel guilty about something that ended 143 years ago.
Repeat: that pissed-off angry bitchy lady with the attitude, who has found NOTHING to be proud about in this entire country for her entire life up until this month, may well become First Lady.

The Osamas are celebrity politicans - they love being the center of attention. Osama will end up winning the battle (for the nomination) and losing the war (general election). The prospect 4 years of old lettuce head McCain is alot better 4 years of horrifying leadership by Osama or even Shillary. McCain should choose Condoleeza Rice as his VP to totally freak out everyone.
Posted by: Anonymous at February 20, 2008 5:51 AM
I agree. Although the best outcome of this shop of horrors is McCain, the election has no desirable outcome, and its only value is as spectator sport. I would like to see McCain pck not Rice (who is incompetent beyond human measure) but some other African American woman, or a transgendered Moslem cripple, or something. Then, I'd like to see Obama pick Hillary for VP. And then its rock and roll time - the final meltdown of identity politics as Americans stare into the abyss of what they are creating, and what the Europeans have already brought down upon themselves, and at the edge of the precipice, they pull back, shake it off, and regroup. I not only would prefer to see that, I would pay to see it.

What you're advocating is KEEPING RACE CONFLICT ALIVE.
YOU may feel GUILTY, but I have done NOTHING to oppress anyone! What you're whining about happened DECADES ago. IT'S OVER and keeping blacks as a PERPETUAL VICTIM CLASS will only hurt everyone. Do you think blacks NEED your help to get ahead, Lee? That makes you an ELITIST RACIST.
Posted by: KHarn at February 20, 2008 9:08 AM
Michelle Malkin gets some love from an Obama supporter. It has more f-words than Lee's comments, but basically it amounts to the same thing: if you're black, you have the right to hate America and if you're not black you should shut up about it.
Posted by: V the K at February 20, 2008 9:38 AM
Lee, you folks who live in other countries don't really have any business criticizing our election process. And, if you actually lived in the US, an honest assessment of contemporary life would reveal that racism is predominately black-initiated. Identity politics is the domain of racists like JJackson, ASharpton, and many other blacks. Ditto for Hispanics. You don't hear whites cheerleading for white candidates because they are white.
Posted by: skh.pcola at February 20, 2008 10:29 AM
I live in NY. I said I DO NOT feel any guilt - I am however intelligent enough to have empathy and understand that not everyone is similiarly situated - and IF I were black I am sure I would have some cause to have bad feelings about American history.
KHarn - You do not solve race issues by DENYING the way some people feel about the history of the USA re: race.
This is basic stuff folks - not rocket science
Posted by: Lee at February 20, 2008 10:48 AM
Obama is not a black candidate. He is also half white. He is a mainstream candidate who was the president of Harvard Law Review, is very smart and an exciting candidate for all Americans.

"We are seriously considering turning over the leadership of America to people who despise it."
Who despises America? Let's see, the lot of you express seething hatred nearly everyday for:
4. Scientists whose findings contradict your unsupported beliefs
5. In this thread, and others, there is an unspoken but implied hatred of African Americans
6. Pro Choicers
Essentially, anyone who dares to disagree with your tiresome flag waving and bible thumping is greeted with hate filled insult.
I am VERY certian that Van Helsing and the regular posters on this blog, with some exception, are filled with infinitely more hatred for AMERICANS than the Obamas. Here is a guyscours the mainstream media every day, all day, apparently, for the most obscure, and absurd of stories that may just be remotely connected to one of his "peeve issues". A person who then twists, exaggerates, and often willfully (I thnk) misinterprets these stories in order to come to some absolutely proposterous conclusion like the Obamas despise America, must be full of so much hate he can barely contain himself.
how can you love a country when you hate most of the people in it so much?
Posted by: hashfanaticFAN at February 20, 2008 11:02 AM
There you go confusing 'disagreement' and 'hatred'. Like any silly liberal, you are completely unable to discern the differnce. If someone disagrees with you, you hate them. And because hate is so natural for you - you expect it of everyone else.
Remember the thread about liberals being clinically nuts? You need mental help, dude.

If Van does such a horrble job on this website then why the hell do you read it? Obviously, with your superior intellect you should be more interested in sites such as the KOS,and Huuffington. 2. Muslim fascists who would trample individual rights in the name of "tolerance"
3. Environmntalist fascists who would trample individual rights in the name of "Global Warming"
4. Scientists whose findings are designed to promote the power and authority of politicians and bureaucrats over citizens.
5. In this thread, and others, there is an unspoken but implied hatred of African American fascists who would trample individual rights in the name of "tolerance"
6. Pro Choicer fascists who would trample individual rights in the name of "choice"
7. Democrats who oppose freedom and support the expansion of the all-powerful State
8. Hispanic fascists who would trample individual rights in the name of "la raza"
9. Darwinists who are intolerant of any criticism and seek to suppress same

Have ever seen a picture of Obama? I'll bet he and his wife would disagree that he isn't black.
Being president of a radical left rag like Harvard Law Review isn't exactly a glowing recomendation around here.
Obama is a radical leftist and a racist, so radical that his mentor was a Communist (take note of the big C). See today's post "Obama's Communist Mentor".
He's only exciting to the fools suckered by his messianic bloviating.

Sheesh! I'm tired of this stuff. Ms. Obama was just uttering campaign gush. However, Barack's campaign promises do seem socialistic.
I've always liked and worked with black people all of my adult life; but these two seem to depend to much on political manuevers and socialism to achieve thier success, as compared to black people who work, and, work to support our way of life here in America.
