Hard Left Politics in Tucson Public Schools

Augustine Romero is director of the Tucson Unified School District's ethnic studies department. A barking moonbat, he holds that history and civics classes as traditionally taught are the product of "ultraconservatives":

With the ultraconservative orientation, people want to believe that if you offer a naive, simplistic, color-blind orientation, that's the only truth. We transcend indoctrination because we offer multiple perspectives. It's a higher level of thinking.

When moonbats start boasting about higher levels, reach for your hip waders.

Romero describes himself and all his instructors as "progressives." Barack Obama campaign workers would feel at home in his classrooms, where portraits of communist executioner Che Guevara have been hung on the walls, along with posters of Mexican general/bandit Pancho Villa and totalitarian dictator Fidel Castro — all enemies of the USA.

Tucson taxpayers cough up $2.6 million for the ethnic studies program, which focuses on instilling hatred of Caucasians and American civilization. The immediate result has been a witch hunt:

Teachers and counselors are being called before their school principals and even the district school board and accused of being racists. And with a cadre of self-acknowledged "progressive" political activists in the ethnic-studies department on the hunt, the race transgressors are multiplying.

His bare-knuckle commitment to hard-left ideology will take Romero far in the ethnic studies field. Last I knew there was an opening at the top at University of Colorado.

Public schools present these creepy murdering tyrants as heroes.

Hey, forget the bake sales. I know how Tucson schools can receive an extra $2.6 MM in funding.

Someone better tell Obama Hussein.....that'll get the Che posters off the campaign walls.

I know these guys! I stopped at the overpass in which they live under and gave them a couple of bucks. The older guy held a sign saying he'd work for Cerveza.

"I stopped at the overpass in which they live under and gave them a couple of bucks."

A better question might be, what exactly were you paying them for, eh, momito?
