Cold Moves in, Windmills Fail to Provide Enough Power
The global warming crisis isn't real, but problems caused by moonbatty solutions to it are. A case in point:
A drop in wind generation late on Tuesday, coupled with colder weather, triggered an electric emergency that caused the Texas grid operator to cut service to some large customers, the grid agency said on Wednesday.
Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) said a decline in wind energy production in west Texas occurred at the same time evening electric demand was building as colder temperatures moved into the state.
Warm as it may be in Al Gore's apocalyptic fantasies, in the real world it gets cold, even in Texas, and people need power from reliable sources.

On a tip from Byron.

Wow again, this anger for nature. You don't even get your own irony? You must be a city boy.

At least PETA will be happy that when the wind stopped, and the blades quit turning, millions of birds and insects were spared from death, if not for a few minutes.
Remember, PETA and the rest of the ALGORE Moonbats cry for us to become fully dependant on these things, instead of clean nuclear power, but scream bloody murder if you want to put one in their back yards. Nantucket and the Kennedy Klan anyone?

It's like liberals don't have enough sense to look at a little history/engineering and realize why steam ships replaced sailing ships.
The only wind that always blows comes from liberals' butt holes. (Which is synonymous with their mouths.)

Poor albore -- he can't win for losin'. Of course al no doubt has his own gasoline-powered generator in his substantial basement, so he will never be without power should the wind stop blowin' and the cold weather comes (and believe me, having lived there for many years, it does get mighty COLD in Nashville in the winter!).

VH, how about posting this story of a soldier who just won $1 million in the Lottery....and is going to go back to Iraq for his 3rd tour. After all the moonbat bleating for six years about how the military is made up of po' trash who can't get a real job or university degree, well, now we got a rich guy who's going to go risk his life for his country. It's a bit inspiring, for those still capable of being inspired by something other than global warming or Obama.

Having spent some time on the Llano Estacado, High Plains and the Panhandle in WINTER, Let me assure you Texas can get cold. I have been forced to spend more than one unplanned overnight stop in Amarillo, Dalhart and Dumas because of Old Man Winter. Coal fired power works, boys and girls.

If one wants clean reliable power - nuclear is the best option. Except Moonbat econuts really want people to turn back the clock 200 years to a time when no one used electricity.

So, the cost of green electricity is:
The setup and maintenance of all of those windmills,
PLUS an equal amount of coal/gas/nuclear generation capacity to replace them during a lack of wind,
PLUS federal subsidies.
Sounds like a plan to me.

Parker is undeniably a city boy. There is no such thing as a rural liberal.

All liberal eco-Nazi's should be immediately disconnected from the power grid and FORCED to use alternative energy and pay for it themselves. Then we will see how great of an idea they think it is.
Posted by: Anonymous at February 29, 2008 7:58 AM
Now that is a great idea! I would think after a month or two, they would get the idea.

Hoosier -
They should also be forced to pay a HUGE and SPECIAL carbon offset fee/tax on each Starbucks Double Feeling Snotty Frothing coffee they buy.
Think they will whine and squeal when this finally does hit them in their pocket books?
Ya Betch Ya!
