Berkeley Businesses Suffer for Moonbat Outrages
Berkeley is like the rest of the world in one respect: honest people trying to create wealth with their businesses pay the price for moonbattery:
BERKELEY — People who are angry at city leaders for their anti-military stance are taking it out on businesses — canceling hotel rooms, restaurant reservations and theater tickets.
They are writing letters to the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce outlining their plans to boycott the city.
And they are steering clear of downtown shops because of the weekly anti-war protests that in recent weeks have become increasingly volatile.
Two weeks after the Berkeley City Council refused to apologize to the U.S. Marine Corps for calling them "uninvited and unwelcome intruders," Berkeley businesses are feeling the backlash from people who don't want to spend their money in the city.
No doubt Code Pinko and World Can't Wait communists will see this as an added benefit of the siege they have laid to the Marines recruiting office, with the active assistance of the municipal government.
Once again, Berkeley demonstrates why every community has a vested interest in stamping out moonbattery before it can metastasize out of control.

On a tip from dpt.

Berkeley Moonbats have yet to figure out that most of a municipality's tax base is derived (either directly or indirectly) from businesses. A mass exodus of capitalistic enterprise from Bezerkeley is not out of the question. If that happens, will the idiotic city leaders have any regrets over mandating seditious activity in their streets? Probably not, since personal responsibility is to moonbattery as holy water is to vampires.

Notice that the Marines are willing to sacrifice an American city for its audacity to actually hold a divergent opinion, much the same way they will sacrifice their own for failed wars and ideologies the people that pay their bills no longer support.

Notice that hash "thinks" that the Marines are promoting a boycot. He "thinks" that the Marines at the recruting office dictate Corps policy and declair war.
Hash, back when schools actually EDUCATED children in usefull subjects, I learned that GOVERNMENTS declare wars, not military forces. Let me remind you ONCE MORE that many of your Liberal leaders in Congress voted to hand the decision of the Iraq problem (It's NOT a seperate war, by the way) over to President Bush. Plausable deniability, or cowardice? You can decide that for yourself.

I think the bases should be relo'd. If the Marines are uninvited and unwanted then they don't need the money coming in because they have a Marine base in the area either. I'm sure they don't want that dirty military money anyway.

I wonder how many officer candidates the place has found. Berkley doesn't exactly strike as prime recruiting ground.

And like all good leftists he doesn't seem to understand the fact that are consequenses for actions. For example when you turn your city streets into three ring circus ,people will spend their money elsewhere.

Eh, hash-hole just showed up to get a rise out of people, then crawled back under the sink.
Berkeley business has been dealing with this sort of thing for decades, if they really wanted change they would have elected the correct people long ago. I saw similar protests back in the 80's when I served.
Lets face it, Berkeley is like a chunk of the jurassic that was suddenly discovered in a remote valley somewhere; full of dinosaurs, drooling beasts and mindless scampering insects.

Hoosier -
UC Berkeley has a very large ROTC presence. The Naval ROTC (Navy/Marine) is pretty big, because it is the cross-town NROTC for several universities in the area including Stanford.
That is not to mention the walk-in and Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) students (outside of ROTC but trying to get Marine Corps Officer Commissions.
The Officer Selection Officer (OSO) office is fairly new, but the Moonbats fully underappreciate the real US Military presence in the area.
I won't even devulge the intel on the Reserve Military - Police connections. Let them do thier homework for a change.

If you hate the military, here's the extent of your rights:
"No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law."
Nothing there about outlawing recruitment centers or anything similar.

No Hashterbaiting in public. It creates a bad visual. :-)

OT: ex-cop kills woman and her near-term fetus.
I understand Hillary's fetus has been campaigning for her. Maybe that explains Hillary's lousy results.

Notice that the Marines are willing to sacrifice an American city
Ah, there's your mistake. Berkeley is not an American city, and its residents would be offended for it to be characterized as such. Seriously.
It's arguably not even a terrestrial city. They should have set "Men in Black" there, and saved a lot of money on special effects.

ROTFLMBO!!!!
Maybe the people in Portland, OR would appreciate having all that find Marine and Navy presence boosting their economy??? *wink*

Michelle Malkin has a funny story about everybodys favorite code-pinko moonbat Medea Benjamin getting into a verbal altercation with someone who had the audacity to disagree with her little protest. To quote the story from Melanie Morgan:
“While we were at the protest in Berkeley from 12 to 4 PM a white volvo drove by and a man spat upon code pink. They chased him down the street and got into a verbal altercation. The police were NO WHERE in sight. That’s not the best part, ready for this? Medea Benjamin yelled and I quote “Marines!” she actually yelled for our help because this man had stepped out of his car. Lol. I even asked her if she was yelling Police and she told me “I said Marines” then put her arm around my friend Allen (the Marine vet) Ironic? Ok back to the emails!! “

American Brigade - coming soon, web site almost to rollout.
Just got emails on this - sorry, no intel yet for the trolls. Do your own homework.
If you watched O'Riley today, you saw Melony Morgan.....mentioned the American Brigade...Fortune 500 Companies behind a full out boycott of Berkeley. Berkeley businesses turning on the City Counsel.....
Stay Tuned. It will be interesting.
MANY Vietnam Vets and all Vets looking forward to chipping into this, um, expression of displeasure.
