USA Opens 40,000-Pound Can of Whoop Ass
Read it and weep, moonbats:
U.S. bombers and jet fighters unleashed 40,000 pounds of explosives during a 10-minute airstrike Thursday, flattening what the military called al-Qaida in Iraq safe havens on the southern outskirts of the capital.
The strikes, carried out above approaching troops, was part of Operation Phantom Phoenix, a nationwide campaign launched Tuesday against al-Qaida in Iraq.
A military statement said two B-1 bombers and four F-16 fighters dropped the bombs on 40 targets in Arab Jabour in 10 strikes. […] Many militants have fled U.S. and Iraqi forces massing north of Baghdad in Diyala province.
It's important to kill as many terrorists as possible before Democrats manage to impose their "redeploy to Okinawa" and "talk to the terrorists" strategies. As we'll find out if by some tragedy Barack Hussein Obambi ends up in the White House, dropping bombs on terrorists is a more effective tactic than dropping money on them.

Maybe that was just one last Hurrah before we surrender.

We need more stories like this one in the news.

"The best diplomacy I know is a fully charged phaser bank!" Commander M. Scott
My friends, I am all for diplomacy, but unless you have the FIREPOWER and the WILL TO USE IT to back up your words, peace talks are just noise!

I wonder how long it will be before we see the first story on the Crescent News Network showing an injured woman or child? Then they will interview the al-Qaeda spokesman, I mean the "man on the street" who will tell us we bombed a peaceful neighborhood.
We should keep up these type of operations until there is no such thing as an al-Qaeda "stronghold."

What we have here is a giant waste of money, and most likely a giant waste of innocent life.
How many "terrorists" were killed? As far as you know, none!
Hey, where in the world is Osama Bin Laden? remember him? He was the guy behind 911....probably in Pakistan now. He's not in Iraq, that's for sure.
Posted by: Anonymous at January 11, 2008 3:43 AM
Its sad that you think that there are certain 'approved' areas in which to fight Al Qaeda, but consider some to be a waste.
Wherever we can reach them they can expect a can of kick ass waiting for them. Thats what you do to your enemies. This is not a girl scout picnic.
Its interesting that you prefer to believe that innocent people were killed rather than the Al Qaeda militants who were targeted. You clearly hate our troops, but will surely lie and protest otherwise. Yet your accusation is noted and your true feelings cannot be hidden.
So are you going to advocate invading Pakistan?
The Pakistani government doesnt even control the lawless tribal regions and they wont let the U.S. operate there either.
I'm sure you must have a better idea rather than whinning. What is it?
Posted by: Freedom Now at January 11, 2008 4:33 AM
Pakistan, and it's military dictator, are America's great ally, right? What's the problem? We don't need to invade.
Yeah, I 've been waiting for that can of kick ass to come down on Osama Bin Laden for, what is it, seven years now? He's laughing at your stupid assertion that they can expect a can of kick ass. I haven't seen one such can in 7 years of war. Al quaeda has only grown in number and infamy since we started fighting them.
I don't hate the troops. i hate the people who give our troops stupid orders. There is a dfference. Hating troops is pointless. Like robots, they follow orders. You see, i don't hate the robots, I hate the robots' programmers.
But the right has always had a problem in understanding this difference.
So, How many Al Quaeda were killed in this awesome operation then? Tell me. Can you prove that one person associated with al-quaeda was killed? Can you provide a source for your figures other than the US military who clearly have a vested interest in manipulating the statistics, if there are any? I doubt it. Cheer all you want....it won't change a damned thing.

Yeah, Anonymous, OBL is the only terrorist in the world. And if we just arrest him and give him a fair, ACLU-approved trial, all terrorism will be ended forever.
Leftard.
Posted by: V the K at January 11, 2008 10:39 AM
Anyway, the targets in the raid were primarily large weapons caches and bunkers where roadside bombs were hidden so I can see why anon is upset. Now his noble al qaeda freedom-fighters have less ammo to kill American Imperialists with.

"How many "terrorists" were killed? As far as you know, none!"
Let me ask you; 'How many "INNOCENT LIVES" were killed? As far as you know, none!'
So you don't hate "robots", do you? Then you MUST hate American solders, sailors, marines and airmen, for they are HUMAN BEINGS. Obviously you can't even think of them as HUMAN.
It's the sixties all over again.

Anon youre are misrepresenting my comment. I said that Al Qaeda can expect a can of kick ass wherever we can reach them. But the moron, Musharraf, wont let us help him smash Al Qaeda in the tribal regions.
We have no choice to deal with Musharraf because he is in power. At least he didnt invade an innocent country like Kuwait and hasnt murdered hundreds of thousands of his people. Liberals jump up and down and declare Saddam's government to be sovereign, but they only seem to support America's enemies on such terms. This situation is much like WWII when we had little choice but to deal with the totalitarian dictatorship of Stalin to fight the Nazis.
You are wrong on so many levels. If we love Musharraf so much then why did the Bush Administration force him to allow Bhutto back in the country?
If you have been waiting for us to kick Al Qaeda's ass for seven years and say you havent seen that you are either misinformed or a complete liar.
The Taliban and Al Qaeda were kicked out of Afghanistan into the tribal regions of Pakistan by waves of B52 and B1 bombers. They suffered an embarrassing defeat and now are relegated to the mountainous regions on the border where they get their collective asses kicked every day and have to regroup across the border in their safe haven. If it wasnt for the lawless tribal regions, which no government as ever controlled for throughout its history, Al Qaeda and the Taliban would be finished.
You call our troops robots and say you dont hate them. That is only because you are horribly misinformed. Its sad. Every day our troops work on reconstruction projects and meet with local leaders. This hard work goes unrecognized by talking heads like you who slander them with such empty rhetoric.
As far as your propaganda goes. The news is breaking but this is where we are at...
"Military officials say U.S. bombers and fighter jets dropped a total of 48 bombs on 47 targets used by insurgents to store weapons. The airstrike was one of the largest in the war. Officials say the attack destroyed what they describe an an insurgent "defensive belt" around Baghdad. The attack in Arab Jabour, just south of Baghdad, is part of a large-scale operation launched this week against al-Qaida in Iraq by U.S. and Iraqi forces"
"The U.S. military says there were no civilian casualties in Arab Jabour, and it is not yet known how many insurgents were killed.
Colonel Ferrell says most of the insurgents have now left Arab Jabour and coalition forces are moving into areas that they had not been in for months, even years."
So this operation has changed things. You liar.
You can propagandize on our enemies behalf all you want. Weve seen it before as the Democrats declared that the Surge was a failure that wasnt reducing casualties and that General Petraeus was a traitor and a liar. Thats how you treat our troops.
Posted by: Freedom Now at January 11, 2008 3:47 PM
Oh and the first estimate that I've seen said;
"A massive US air blitz on Al-Qaeda targets south of Baghdad killed at least 21 militants while ground forces have wrested control of six villages in central Iraq from the jihadist network, officials said on Friday."
Anon, there will be more casualty figures soon. I'm sure you will be excited, you sicko.
