Toronto Brings Back Segregation
Proving that condescending patronization is no different in its effects than outright racial hostility, Toronto educrats are reinstituting segregation with an Afrocentric school.
Blacks don't do as well in school, primarily for cultural reasons. To keep it this way, moonbats want to cut them off from the rest of society so they don't assimilate. Instead of learning about Canadians' common heritage, they will be fed the sort of African-oriented victimology that should ensure a lifetime of uselessness and alienation. That way the Left can continue to count on their dependence and their votes.

Would the moonbats cheer if the army is sent in to "desegrigate" the all-black schools as they did when it was done to the all-WHITE southern schools in the fifties and sixties?

Someone remind me. How does spending more time studying African culture improve one's math, science, or English scores?
Even if it did, how can the state support what appears to be a no-whites-welcome school?

Another example of how anything can be justified using the twisted logic of "progressivism". No tenet is too sacrosanct that it can't be completely obviated by rank hypocrisy. To quote Paul Hollander, "Belief in the rights and autonomy of individuals is not compatible with identity politics, with mandated racial preferences and the ecouragement of group pride". The underlying purpose of initiatives like this is of course to perpetuate racial acrimony and division for political gain. At this late date, no one, not even the dittziest liberal, can plead ignorance of the negative consequences of resegregation on its supposed beneficiaries.

How does it benefit the student to be educated in the workings of one culture, only to have to spend the rest of their lives in another? Over time they will either assimilate or they will founder, but it would seem more reasonable to teach them in the ways of the culture of the country in which they live.

Actually, I have a lot of respect for some of my close Canadian friends. I've met a lot of hard and respected Canadian Vets.
Too bad that they are about to be crushed by thier very socialist immigration stance. Real Canadians have become the minority of thier overall population this past decade.
