Thompson Tribute

We've been told the Fred Thompson campaign never caught fire. But during Thursday's debate in South Carolina, it went off like a fireworks display at an oil refinery. Here's Fred doing to The Huckster what the Navy ought to do to the next Iranian speedboats that come looking for trouble:

The New York Times' hostile spin on this evisceration confirms that Fred is The Man:

Fred D. Thompson tried to salvage his faltering presidential campaign at a debate Thursday night with a barrage of sharp attacks on the "liberal" policies of Mike Huckabee[…]

Others realize that Thompson's campaign isn't "faltering" — it's just getting started. IMAO, Right Wing News and Conservative Grapevine offer this tribute:

Opponents of moonbattery needn't bow their heads and accept Huckleberry or McLame so long as there's still a conservative in the race.

On a tip from Byron.

We can only hope his campaign catches on, but McCain is the only Republican bad enough to make me vote for Hillabama.

Booyah! Thompson laid the smackdown on the Huckster. He is the only Republican I would vote for at this point, since all the other 'front runners' (what a load of bs, front runners my a$$) are basically RINO's. Then, of course, you have the nutty fringe people who follow Ron Paul.

Don't Mess with Fred.

I like that.

Posted by: Jimbo at January 12, 2008 1:17 PM

As a " Friend Of Fred " I say, "It's about time!!!!

Posted by: Ted Wallavce at January 12, 2008 2:46 PM

Don't listen to the MSM who says that Fred is dead: they know he's the man to beat, and so they do what they can to mire his campaign in nonsense about him being lazy, no "fire in his belly" and other such crap.

Fred Thompson is the only real conservative in the race. He has what it takes. Go Fred!

Posted by: Pam at January 12, 2008 7:53 PM

Pam is right. The MSM is scared of Fred. They know that he will run that little red truck right over their chose one, Obama. And then load the body in the back to be taken to the nearest DNC office.

But gang, Thompson needs your help to continue and take this nation back to our conservative roots.
Give $5.00 to Fred08. Every little bit helps.

"conservative" or no, he hasn't a prayer

there are health issues that will manifest themselves

despite the hype, he has a demonstrated lackluster record on immigration, in conjunction with the fact that he was a republican lobbyist for over nineteen years

and americans will never accept his wife as first lady

he will try, very hard, and soon, but will ultimately fail

beyond the manufactured image, fred thompson is not presidential material

Posted by: hashfanatic at January 13, 2008 12:21 AM

FRED HEADS RULE!

Fred will stomp a mudhole in that empty suit commie fuck from Illinois and spank Hitlery in the debates like the 3 dollar whore she is!

GO FRED GO!

Posted by: GunnyG at January 13, 2008 5:06 AM

hashfanatic,

Go smoke some more dope and drool over your Obambi picturs.

Posted by: Conan at January 13, 2008 5:07 AM

As to Presidential timber:Fred is Tennessee walnut, the RINOS are pine, and the Dem. candidates are, well...plastic.

Posted by: Mockin'bird at January 13, 2008 7:29 AM

What kind of person adopts the moniker "hashfanatic"? Or is the name self explanatory?

You can say that Fred is dead, but collecting almost one million bucks in less than 48 hours is not exactly funeral expenses.

Don't base you assumptions on two states, Iowa and New Hampshire. And remember, they ain't the South and the South will call it.

"Or is the name self explanatory?"

no, it's not

"You can say that Fred is dead, but collecting almost one million bucks in less than 48 hours is not exactly funeral expenses."

that makes him a good moneychanger and adept at raising funds, but that doesn't make him a good candidate for president, and it doesn't make him much of a good american either

"Don't base you assumptions on two states, Iowa and New Hampshire."

why would anyone with any common sense?

fred will experience a brief uptick, but ultimately this will resonate in only a few states, but a thompson candidacy will simply ensure hillary victory by a landslide in the general, and the gop knows this

"And remember, they ain't the South and the South will call it."

oh, if only that it were

Posted by: hashfanatic at January 13, 2008 2:16 PM

If Thompson doesnt have a chance, why do you find it so important to propagandize against him?

You are afraid of that uptick.

Posted by: Freedom Now at January 13, 2008 6:19 PM

I am afraid of nothing.

It is simply a waste of time to support Thompson as a viable candidate, for all of the reasons I've listed above.

Thompson does NOT represent the values you think he does. It's a question of believing the smallest constituency on the right will seriously have the power to influence government policies and military actions based on putting in essentially the most malleable candidate, an extension of electing the dude you'd most want to hang out with, crack open a beer and watch the game with.

Based largely on a Hollywood media image.

That's not reality, and that's CERTAINLY not what you should pick a president based on.

If you're "taking a stand" and voting for who you really want, instead of the lesser of two evils, and you're tired of such politically expedient compromises, that's fine, and that position certainly has merit. It's the way things are supposed to be.

But it does solidify the win of EVERY SINGLE Democratic candidate winning, and I thought the whole point you guys here was to keep the dreaded "moonbats" at bay.

Thompson in no way can do that.

Posted by: hashfanatic at January 13, 2008 9:45 PM

Yeah, Hash, but you are soooo adamant to propagandize against him, but claim that he is irrelevant.

I am not a Conservative and I dont care if Thompson is a real Conservative or not.

However, he will give America the type of strong leadership that our country needs and that scares you. Thats why its so important to you that you comment here.

I have seen a book full of your comments and you do not like the GOP. You oppose it at every turn so when someone like you doesnt have the best interests of the organization he is commenting about at heart it is interesting to see such "advice". The true motivation is obvious.

"However, he will give America the type of strong leadership that our country needs and that scares you."

Why would strong leadership of my country scare me?

"I have seen a book full of your comments..."

Really? You mean I've made the big time??

"...and you do not like the GOP."

No, I do not. Relevance?

"You oppose it at every turn so when someone like you doesnt have the best interests of the organization he is commenting about at heart it is interesting to see such "advice"."

Do you seriously believe what I have to say, on this site, will influence ANYONE'S vote, one way or another?

I'm not trying to dissuade hardcore miltards from pulling the lever for a washed-up candidate, because I believe it is a GOOD thing to vote your principles, very good for the mind, body and soul.

I'm simply stating that ain't keeping Hillary out, and I repeat, I thought keeping her and all others you categorize as "moonbats" was the general focus of this site.

Without major reforms in the way our elections are conducted, you will have to face the fact that a principled vote will very rarely translate to a winning vote.

I cannot believe accepting that fact will turn your elaborate, highly principled set of values upside down, will it?

I am not your "Dr. Phil".

Posted by: hashfanatic at January 14, 2008 5:52 PM

I've already told you the relevance of the fact that you hate the GOP. When you claim to give its supporters advice, how can that be taken seriously? Look at the juvenile jokes in your comment. You have ill will towards the GOP and your comments that portend to be helpful are dubious because of it.

Posted by: Freedom Now at January 15, 2008 12:27 PM

FN, I consider the bulk of the GOP to be agents of a globalist entity, and I'm going on the assumption that even the most knuckle-dragging wingnut berserker here still pledges allegiance to America, not the true one-party system the GOP pledges loyalty to.

Now I don't have to LIKE anyone to express my views on a subject, and I'm not trying to persuade anyone.

The longer GOP loyalists (as opposed to Americans) work on THEIR behalf, rather than America's behalf, the longer that gives me to promote my own personal agenda amongst my own and build strength and power, but I have no intention of wasting time convincing any of y'all.

As far is this blog is concerned, I'm just an innocent bystander. You all need to operate and make decisions based on your own counsel, and, hopefully, the guidance of The One Above.

But it's not my business to empower any of you either. You are still, technically, the "enemy".

Posted by: hashfanatic at January 15, 2008 2:37 PM

As far as this blog is concerned you are a troll that uses fake aliases.

Then you commit the crime that moonbats accuse supporters of this evil conspiracy of.

You call me the enemy.
