Judge Finds Bible Distribution Unconstitutional

The same Constitution that guarantees our freedom of religion has been twisted by US District Judge Catherine Perry into a justification for banning the distribution of Bibles at schools in Annapolis, Missouri.

Gideons were giving out free Bibles to kids before and after school and during lunch, not in the classroom. Nonetheless, the ACLU successfully sued to stop them. Apparently the First Amendment has been reinterpreted to mean "Thou shalt have no gods before moonbattery."

Next, moonbats will twist the Second Amendment into a pretext for confiscating guns.

But if a couple of imams were passing out Korans, said judge would've declared it an example of "multicultural understanding" or some other moonbatty phrase meaning "brainwashing kids into following a non-Christian religion."

As long as they give the kids a disclaimer:

"warning: this book is a work of FICTION, and not a very good one at that. Do not take what is written herein literally."

I have no problem with the kids reading the book. It should provide them with a pretty good historical indication of why the world is so fucked up.

religion period is the greatest line of crap ever.

And the atheist trolls come pouring in, eager to ridicule the Christian faith as much as possible. How sad.

Alot of what takes place in the Bible is based on historical fact confirmed by archaeology and other sources. When it comes to things like the Genesis, Garden of Eden and whether or not Jesus rose from the dead, things like that arent fact. Now as to who and what the creator actually is - thats another story entirely.

Then again alot of what passes for fact these days turns out to be false.

Now let someone try and pass out copies of the Koran and be stopped from doing it and the ACLU would run to their rescue.

Actually the reason the world is F-ed up is people doing the exact opposite of whats written in the New Testament.

And if the Bible were truly fiction, it would have been written much better - and thats really the point. It was written by dozens of people over the course of thousands of years - not 1 person.

Posted by: Anonymous at January 14, 2008 5:47 AM

The Bible is such a hellacious load of contradictions and meandering nonsense that no truly thinking person could ever really make an ounce of sense out of it.

hell any, 6th grader won't need more than 10 minutes to tell you the Bible is a crock of shit if left to think about it on their own. Unfortunately, you won't be left alone. You'll have parents, and priests, and televangelsits threaten you with enternal damnation if you actually admit that it's a load of shit. Most people learn to shut up and take it.

Posted by: Anonymous at January 14, 2008 5:56 AM

How then can a book written by dozens of people over thousands of years be non-fiction? It seems as if you want to have it both ways: the Bible is filled with lies, but there are some things that can be historically confirmed. So friggin what? How can you tell what is the truth and what is complete fantasy in the Bible? What value does a book like this have, then? Should abook like this really serve as guide to millions of hapless, unthinking, automatons? Tell me one significant, important story from the Bible that can be historically confirmed the way it is presented in the Bible.

By the way, the Koran is filled with crap too, but I don't mind kids reading it, as long as they are not threatned with it, or led to believe that "god" has anything to do with it.

You see Adam all "religious faith" needs to be ridiculed. Generally speaking, it is appropriate to ridicule the ridiculous.

given the fact that these are PUBLIC schools, funded by taxpayer money, it seems pretty obvious, under a principle of the separation of church and state, that religious groups should not be given access to these school facilities to promote and encourage religious indoctrination. Simple as that. No Korans, no Bibles, No Torahs. Relgious organizations have more than enough access to our youth, unfortunately, as it stands.

If the military recruiters don't get 'em, they've got the religion nuts after 'em. And they're after them when younger and younger these days. Poor kids.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and been the most inspirational book in the history and values of America.

Anonymous (if that's really your name),
Why don't you take your bullshit and troll someplace else?

Posted by: steve at January 14, 2008 7:22 AM

I think Anon proves the adage that an atheist is someone who doesn't believe in God and hates Him.

As a general rule, a group of kids coming home after Bible study are less of a threat to the average pedestrian than a group of kids coming home from midnight basketball. But left-lib-atheists prefer the latter, for some reason.

I love how these atheist trolls like to go under "Anonymous" don't. They spout their verbal diarrhea, but have to hide.

And I guess while passing out Bibles is banned, passing out the Koran is still OK, huh

the gideons can still hand them out on any public street outside a schoolhouse - we had a gideon at our church awhile back and the stories he and his wife told of how happy children were to get these books would have brought tears to anyone's eyes.

our nation is in a sad state when this happens, but i also do not want other religions in school proselytizing - get them ALL out - out of the textbooks and all other curriculum.

faith should begin at home.

anonymouse - is it dark up there? we can send the jaws of life to do an anal retraction if you'd like...

Anonymous, the one and only True God loves you and offered up his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, for even you. Even though you hate Him, He has provided Salvation for you if you would only repent?

Posted by: apostle53 at January 14, 2008 8:33 AM

There is a blatant attack going on against Christianity by insane liberals who would be more than happy serving as slaves under a caliphate. That being said, there is no way bibles should be passed out at public schools. Opens the door for all kinds of lunacy.

Posted by: Smoke TNT at January 14, 2008 10:52 AM

They always rail against Christianity and Judeism, NEVER against Islam.
Attack the weak spots in the enemy's line, a honored military tactic.

Oh and Anonymous, you forgot to say "religion is the opiate of the masses". (Marx, but not Groucho)

"...but i also do not want other religions in school proselytizing - get them ALL out - out of the textbooks and all other curriculum.

EXACTLY.

"There is a blatant attack going on against Christianity by insane liberals..."

Yes, there is...

"there is no way bibles should be passed out at public schools. Opens the door for all kinds of lunacy..."

Thank you, thank you, thank YOU!!!

A rare glimpse of sanity, on a blog not known for its intelligent, reasoned comments.

can you people read? I wrote that the Koran was just as full of crap as the Bible! What is with the selective reading on the part of the right?

Posted by: Anonymous at January 15, 2008 2:58 AM

Kharn, you again? I'm really going to stop responding to your posts. You are so obviously lacking in fundamental literacy skills, and fundamental education, that it just dosen't seem fair to watch you continuously make an idiot of yourself. Plus, it's just a complete waste of time...

Yes, Karl Marx did say that religion is the opium of the masses. He was right. If you could read, and study, you'd find that Karl Marx was a genius. Whether or not you like or dislike his political/economic theory is one thing, and I certainly do not appreciate the way Marx's work was adopted by cruel dictators and con men, the truth is that marx develpoed a politcal7economic theory that actually contains some validity and sensitivity. marx's principles were pure in their intention, and marx himself would never have hurt a fly. So if you want to ridicule a generally good man who was light years ahead of you in intelligence, and that makes you feel good about yourself..go ahead.

Posted by: Anonymous at January 15, 2008 6:56 AM

Moonbattery is inherently illogical as this statement reveals.

Whether or not KHarn is more or less intelligent than Karl Marx, KHarn has every right to critique a historical figure regardless of the assumed superiority of such leftwing ideologues.

There is no cloak of untouchable immunity that applies to any public figure that he or she should not be critically examined.

Judging by how upset you are it is obvious that Karl Marx is your religious icon. KHarn thou hath committed blasphemy.
