Envirokooks Want to Bury Trees
Environmentalists aren't just a menace to the economy and our liberties. Their hubris and hunger for control, as well as the wacky theories in which they fervently believe, make them a threat to the environment they so piously worship.
The bizarre notion that carbon has suddenly become environmentally toxic has led some enviropsychos to advocate cutting down live trees and burying them so that the deadly CO2 cannot escape the rotting wood and make it stop being so cold out:
Here a carbon sequestration strategy is proposed in which certain dead or live trees are harvested via collection or selective cutting, then buried in trenches or stowed away in above-ground shelters. The largely anaerobic condition under a sufficiently thick layer of soil will prevent the decomposition of the buried wood.
One of the reasons CO2 is not a toxin but a highly necessary component of our atmosphere is that trees absorb it and then release the oxygen we breathe. If we buried enough trees, we really would have an environmental crisis.
Through the UN and the Democrat Party, these kooks may get the coercive leverage they need to inflict this sort of lunacy on our forests, on our dime, to forestall a global warming crisis that it is increasingly obvious does not exist.

Let me get this straight. Wackos now want to bury the trees, but burn human bodies for heat.

How about burying live envirowackos? We cut down on CO2 emissions AND their hot-air rhetoric. It's a win-win situation.

"...trees absorb it and then release the oxygen we breathe." They want to bury trees?? *sigh*

And Van gets a spot in Wednesday WTFs.

Van, you won't believe this. Well, actually, you will.

Why not return the environuts' carbon to the earth? Or, why not change the industrial smokestack scrubbers to emit less CO2 and more SO2 and NO2.
It like Limbaugh's joke - the solution to global warming is clear-cutting.

We would have had an environmental crisis about the time the Mayflower landed.
This is just madness, fueled by grants.

I wonder what percentage of those who want to bury trees are opposed to waste dumps aka landfills?
Posted by: teqjack at January 8, 2008 1:53 PM
apparently they've NEVER been around an old tree stump that's been buried under mulch for a couple of years - millions of termites! of course, if they're willing to eat them, then i see no problem. otherwise, we usually spray old tree stumps with wd40 or some other inflammant and throw a match to it...that's just us...

Weren't these the same boneheads crying about clearcutting the Amazon forests?
Like 2 years ago?

I love how this article claims global warming is a myth. Well i guess that explains why it's 75 degrees here in Tennesse in the middle of January. Because it doesn't exist, that makes sense.

A changing climate is not the dispute. The dispute is whether or not it's caused by human activity.

John, it was 19 degrees last week for an evening low (two consecutive nights) here in Florida. Global "warming"?

This is why i hate the term "global warming" it should be something more like climate changes. So you are telling me nothing is wrong when its 75 in tennessee and 19 in florida in JANUARY? seriously, open your eyes and look around you.

You're right, John. We're all frying...or freezing...and it's all our fault. Happy?

Folks who think that changing weather is something new clearly haven't been on this Earth for very long (or they've been living in Hawaii). I can remember from my childhood long ago in the 60s the very same crazy temperature swings in Illinois -- 50 degrees one day, followed by temperatures in the teens the next. This is nothing new!
The temperatures that I can recall here go from about 26 below to 105 above. Only a fool would think that a temperature change averaging a couple hundredths of a degree in a year (if it's even happening) could ever be noticed by humans or animals.
