Dems on Iraq: Where They Stood Yesterday
The Jawa Report is right — as Democrats pander to their rabidly defeatist base in advance of the elections, we ought to think back to what they said on record only a few years ago:
As anyone with better memory than the MSM will recall, Democrats were perfectly happy to open the Iraqi theater of our war with Islamic terrorists. They just don't want us to win there.
On a tip from Scott.

Democrats may have failed at everything in Congress, but they did manage to Apply Nanny-State principles to the Congressional cafeteria.
So, they failed to address illegal immigration, failed to expand S-CHIP to well-off middle-class families, failed to surrender in Iraq, failed to enact their three trillion tax increase... but, by golly, they succeeded in putting tofu and recycle bins in the cafeteria.

I believe so.

Honestly? I don't want our Republican Guard to "win " there.
There is no "winning" to begin with there, but America needs a valuable lesson that can only be learned by being trounced, and, if that prevents further needless and obscenely costly campaigns of aggression in foreign lands that never attacked us in the first place, it will save countless valuable American lives and precious financial resources and I am all for that.

hashfan, you are right there is nothing to "win". No one in the admin has even defined what "winning" means in the Iraq quagmire with any degree of clarity anyway. Hell, they can't even give a straight answer as to why we are there in the first place...How could they possible define a "win"?
As for being trounced, I'd tend to agree with you, but America never learns. We lost hundreds of thousands in Vietnam, and didn't win jack shit there either. See what a lovely democracy Vietnam has become? But we keep coming back for more. The only thing Americans will respond to is having their personal lifestyle altered in some way. Let their TV screens go balnk for 48 hours, let the shopping malls close down, let the gas prices rise incredibly, then you'll see some pissed off Americans, who then , may be prepared to "learn a lesson". But if their lives are not personally affected, they won't give a shit. As long as they've got their little phones, and ipods, and cars, 100 Tv channels, and the malls are open and they can buy more shit that they don't need, and can't even really afford, everybody is happy.

THE GIG IS UP HASH.
WE NOW KNOW THAT YOU ARE A TROLL OF THE WORST DISORDER AND YOU HAVE CREATED A FAKE IDENTITY.
YOU SCREWED UP AND MIXED UP YOUR ALIASES. YOU HAD HASHFANATICFAN REPLY TO HASHFANATIC AND ADDRESSED HIM AS HASHFANATICFAN.
You really should be more careful when making false comments.
BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(When using the comments' "Remember Me?" feature the blog remembers your personal info from the last time you commented. You have to be sure to make sure to change that identity to the fake alias that you want to use next time.)

Wrong, FN.
I, hashfanatic, made a comment and some other poster, who calls himself "hashfanatic fan" commented on MY post immediately thereafter.
I post under one "alias" here, which is hashfanatic.
Long ago, I recall using the moniker "moonbat supreme", but I no longer use that name.
I use the screenname "hashfanatic" when posting here, and only "hashfanatic".
I HAVE had wingnut savages misrepresent ME in the past on this site by posting their own filthy, hateful messages under MY screenname, but that has not occurred lately and hopefully will not reoccur.
Sorry, "Freedom Now", but maybe it is you who need a fresh tinfoil hat!

Hash,
I really think you should go back to moonbat supreme,it's much more fitting. Are you enjoying those presidential greebeans? They're grown out at area 51 with a special moonbat exterminating coating. Enjoy you meal.

HashfanaticFan, Hashfanatic,
Your mistake is in black and white. You accidently addressed your comment to yourself.
To be a liar on top of it is no surprise coming from someone like you.

FN, what part of "hashfanatic posted post number one and hashfanaticfan posted post number two" don't you understand?
Maybe you should stick to the two cents plain?
Posted by: hashfanatic at January 16, 2008 4:22 PM
I am hashfanaticFAN, not hashfanatic. We are two different people! If I typed the wrong name into a post, that was a mistake.
Posted by: hashfanaticFAN at January 17, 2008 1:06 AM
I have to thank VH for clearing this up.
HashfanaticFAN's typo threw me off.
My apologies Hash.
