Berkeley Moonbats Equate Recruiting Offices With Porn Shops

Sure they support the troops — the same way Rudy Giuliani supported the porn industry when he was Mayor of New York. If a proposed initiative is passed by Berkeley voters, military recruitment offices will be banned from opening within 600 feet of residential districts, public parks, public health clinics, public libraries, schools or churches.

The author of the initiative, Berkeley-based lawyer Sharon Adams, modeled the initiative after current zoning law that restricts the location of adult-oriented businesses.

Berkeley Councilmember Dona Spring has a problem with this. Why wait for the elections in November?

"I think we should just go ahead and pass it," she said. "We can't take everything to the voters."

She also wants Berkeley's only existing recruiting office removed, because it "offends our public standards."

Berkeley is only the beginning:

Proponents hope that this ordinance will become a template for communities around the country to follow.

The soldiers out there fighting to the death to preserve liberty are as obscene to moonbats as porn shops are to decent people.

Hopefully when the Big Quake hits, Berkeley will be reduced to rubble.

Wow...just...wow.

Aren't Post office buildings Federal property? If so, problem solved.

In the event of natural disaster, civil unrest, or terrorist attack, DO NOT send the military there to assist.

In a sane society, cities like Berkeley would simply be cut off from Federal funding and forced to finance and defend their lunacy out of their own back pockets.

I agree, I think it would be a good life-lesson if the U.S. were to declare they no longer militarily defend Berkely or any town that doesn't allow recruiters or military posts. What would happen when the real world comes to invade? They scream "It's all Bush's fault!"

Wow. It seems like the police and firefighters would be really ashamed to serve such a community. Lower Berkeley along San Pablo Blvd is already a no-man's land (unless you're a black or mexican gang-banger). Without a strong police presence they'll start spilling into the hills where the moonbats live.

Those dumb*sses better be careful about offending those who serve.

As a Berkeley refugee, I'm surprised it took them so long to think of this.

Those signs are rather ironic, considering the Left's almost fanatical support of "women's 'choice.'" Guess that's why they support abortion so much: Kill'em in the womb, before they can grow up to be soldiers.

I have lots of friends that are SFPD and East Bay fire/police. Very few of them are ashamed.

The overall public servant (Police/Fire) in CA and the Bay Area is corrupted by thier unions' influence and special interest leanings = left of center. Many of them are simply now on the socialist dole and expectation train........

They take thier jobs seriously and professionally, but they are very left as a rule here. You have to talk to them and socialize to see it in action.........

This is a very frustrating to the ones I know who were former military (or current reserve military), and/or from somewhere else but this cesspool of unbalanced leftoid utopia.

Sorry - meant to say I was responding to Jimbo on the last post.

Posted by: Oiao at January 28, 2008 4:14 PM

Does Berkeley really have zoning laws restricting porn shops? go figure.

Posted by: dpt at January 28, 2008 4:34 PM

I'll check on the zoning laws.

But they did finally get the Naked Guy (as in full frontal) to stop reading his paper on the porch, and doing yard work in front of kids going to school everyday on Telegraph. Guy had been doing this for decades, and was the champion of freedom of speech/expression.............

Guess he finally got so old and outa shape that even the Libbopaths could not take the sight of him.....

Berkley is a dirty (as in trash in the street) place filled with old smelly hippys, and a new generation of youth who have also learned not to bathe in the name of Libbitude.

Nude (etc.): No, no! They'd be screaming "Where are the Marines! Where's the Army! Help us, please!".

What'cha call an "Instant Attitude Adjustment" in the event of a natural disaster or (God forbid!) an invasion (of the real kind, not the slow-but-sure one that's taking place right now) by foreign armed forces.

In the latter case, despite their supplications, I say "Let 'em die." Have to think about the former case. . .

I'm pretty sure I knew that I could be killed in a war when i enlisted in the ARMY last thursday.

Posted by: Alex at January 28, 2008 10:46 PM

Alex? You just enlisted?

Young man - I salute you. Cajones. I appreciate that.

Thank you and God bless you.

For regular fan-mail - keep us posted. We can send silk stockings, cigarettes, and chocolate. :-)

I joke - but I'm serious; thank you Alex. You have more support than you can imagine.

Posted by: Jimbo at January 28, 2008 11:37 PM

Berkley is just another sanctuary for useless parasites. We should just pull out all Federal services and let them take care of themselves. No National Guard, no highway funding, no student loans, no Federal courts, no environmental protection, no tax rebates, etc. Lets just see how long they can tread water...

Posted by: waterboy at January 29, 2008 12:49 AM

Deport everyone in Berkeley and force them to spend 1 year in North Korea. Then when they return its likely their Moonbattery Syndrome will be gone or at least they will be a little more sane than when they left. Provided the North Koreans dont shoot them as spies.

Alex - good for you! As previously stated, you have far more support than is sometimes apparent.

As to the waste of sperm that congregates in Berkeley and other LLL havens - let 'em have their socialist experiments and hoist them in their own petard. They don't want churches, armed forces, actual science (only that of the Goreacle variety), etc. Take it all away and let them redistribute their own *ahem* wealth as they see fit. In fact, I think it would be in the nation's best insterest to go ahead and send all like-minded (and I use the term "mineded" very loosely) individualists there to be propped up, housed, fed, and employed by the local anti-government.

My bet is about a 6 month lapse before they are begging for assistance, but they'll never change their stances on the political issues.

When I returned from Vietnam in 1970 I was "greeted by the parents of the same "types." I suppose there will always be people who would prefer to live within a Vietnamese or Chinese or Russian style totalitarian society where there is no way you can protest against military recruitment or military enlistment. Without our military there would be no "AMERICA," but that is the goal of so many far left wing thinkers anyway, is it not. I will always prefer our "flawed" capitalistic society to their "lockstep" communistic one.
