Abortion Sold as Crime Cure

If you can fight fire with fire, why not fight crime with abortion? Yesterday ABC's Good Morning America featured Freakonomics co-author Stephen Dubner, who intoned that before Roe v. Wade, "unwanted children" were (via NewsBusters):

at a much greater risk for being born into the circumstances where they're more likely to lead a criminal life.

Even the depraved phrase "at risk for being born" went unchallenged. Author John Lott has countered in Freedomnomics that the moral decadence abortion both represents and enables has resulted in more single-parent families, leading to more crime. But no one at ABC was about to contradict Dubner, who concluded:

It's good to know what forces work in society, if for no other reason than to keep doing the right thing.

Since it's "doing the right thing" to impose the death sentence on unborn children because they might grow up to be criminals, why are liberals so appalled when capital punishment is applied to those who already have?

The least we could do is give children a chance to be good, before applying the preemptive death sentence. It's not too late to have them offed once they start to act up. Maybe we should set up late-late–term abortion centers, to be funded by ShrillaryCare. That ought to keep kids in line. "One more word out of you, young man, and I'll have you aborted!"

van - i could have gone the rest of my life without seeing that picture.

our baby girl was BORN at six months and weighed only 2#9oz.

today, she is a healthy 15 year old who is academically brilliant and a superb athlete.

this sunday she is going to a PROLIFE RALLY in a large city with her church.

the pastor has told them they will meet resistance with the pro abortionists - she's pist!

WATCH OUT!

Van, you've got a great sight, but lose the picture. I lost a granddaughter last year when the chord choked her. I don't need to see dead babies to know what abortion is.

Is this a real aborted baby or a still birth? If it is an aborted baby, I think we need more pictures. If the MSM showed these pictures, abortion would end tomorrow.

There are actually even worse photos than this out there.

By keeping abortion locked behind closed doors and dehumanizing pre-born infants they can keep this ca$h cow going to the tune of nearly 1.5 million dead children a year.

I suppose, yes, if there are less people then there will be less crime. But at what cost?

In 1991, there was a woman who was homeless, unemployed, and unmarried who found herself pregnant. A liberal would counsel abortion for such a circumstance, and would call the result of such a pregnancy "a burden on society."

I call the result of that pregnancy my son.

Pictures of abortions should be shown to the public everyday as should pictures of the hijacked planes by Islamofascists hitting the WTC. I'm prochoice but find abortion repulsive. I look at my 4 year daughter everyday and feel so guilty that I once suggested the A word to my now wife. I was shocked by the news and at that time I was prepared to never be a father for the rest of my life. Now I can't imagine not being a dad and glad I am one. Children will never be "a burden on our society" if they are raised by responsible parents. So how about selling proper and responsible parenting as "crime cure"?

I'm having an abortion right now and I highly recommend them.

ENOUGH WITH THE GODDAMN ABORTED BABY PICTURES! ALRIGHT? WE GET THE POINT!

Posted by: phil at January 18, 2008 11:14 AM

Had I seen a picture like that, or really understood what abortion was, I would have a son or daughter who would be 27 right now. Instead, my girlfriend and I sought council from Planned Parenthood (they had a nice, friendly, responsible sounding name). The result was death. As repulsed as I am by that picture, it is necessary. Thanks Van.

Perhaps an unintended consequence of this thread is to reveal and show how wrong and horrendous abortion really is and to make consenting adults be more responsible when having sex. The bottom line - abortion is not a form of birth control or something to do in a casual manner.

Photos like the above are of something that Edwards, Hillary, Obama, and Hashfanatic think is all right.

Those of us that visit this forum are fully aware of the horrors of abortion. You need to post these photos on a liberal blog, not here. I'm considering pulling this site from my favorites list. This is too much.

How about a NSFW (not safe for work) tag on a picture like that next time? and have readers click on a link?

Good for her, nanc. It takes guts to stand up for the unborn. I'll pray for her, that God will strengthen her and keep her safe at the rally.

'Fake. Phony. Fraud.'

What are you referring to, Hash?

Hash is working on his or her complete biography entitled, "Fake. Phony. Fraud... The Study of an Obsessive Internet Troll"

The picture. AND the premise.

(I am pro-abortion though... its just that VH has a valid point.)

This site is among my favorites, and I'm very pro-life, but one more (totally unnecessary) photo like that and I won't come back.
