Why the MSM Kid Gloves for Mike Huckabee?

Even MSNBC moonbat Chris Matthews is wondering, "Why is the liberal media giving Huckabee a free ride?" The MSM's benevolent coverage has fueled a surge that might put him over the top in Iowa. It's true Huckleberry is a tax-and-spend, pro-Reconquista, soft-on-crime RINO, but he used to be a Baptist minister; shouldn't the libs running the media hate his guts?

The important thing, as Douglas MacKinnon observes, is that the Huckster can be beat by the Dems. In the unlikely event he gets the nomination, look for his media coverage to darken dramatically.

Golly shucks, you media guys wouldn't turn on me, would you?

On a tip from Byron.

The question should be...in light of the field of candidates: Why is the right-wing blogosphere being so dishonest and falling for everything the far left in Arkansas politics is feeding it?

Just what is it that makes Huckabee a bad chopice copared to ANY of the other candidates?

Romney...who is an unapologetic flip-flopper of gargantuan proportions?

Rudy...who is an sexcapade scandal just waiting to happen (it won't be goos when the GOP has to defend Giuliani against the same allegations that led to the Clinton impeachment).

Thompson...who clearly has no clue?

Who else is there?

And again...just what is it about Huckabee that makes him a bad choice?

He's beating Hillary in Arkansas, fo crying out loud.

Tancredo....Because Tancredo is not afraid to say that those who don't belong here in our country really don't belong here. Ouch, the truth hurts, and he does'nt candy coat it.
HuckleBerry is a Globalist (like Bush) in conservative window dressing.

Huckabee's record has been publicized honestly. Is he any worse than the others? No. But neither is he better. The only advantage for Romney & Giuliani has been that they've had to get elected and function in a tougher market, because Mass and NYC are about as hostile toward Republicans as you can get. 'Course, they're not true Republicans and neither is Huckabee. Romney is suspect because Mass. would never elect a true conservative, plus Mormonism is as fake as scientology (yes, I've studied it. So sue me). Giuliani is a loud-mouthed New Yorker pseudo-Christian who's gotten away with as much as any leftard in office. And Huckabee? Well, guess if things get too hot in the kitchen, he'll just invoke his baptist background and get "raptured". That would be convenient.

OT: Here's a faster track to human extinction (or at least a bloodless Islamic takeover) than previously thought possible: charge everybody $5,000 for making the mistake of having a child.

At last we can get rid of all those poor people, and focus procreation on affluent elites, where it belongs.

Well, here's a short list....

Why conservatives would want to put a politician nicknamed "Tax-Hike Mike" in the White House, I'm sure I don't know....

"just what is it about Huckabee that makes him a bad choice?"

Preachers should be preachers, not Presidents. There is room for devout men of God to do their thing and make the world a better place, separate from the business of running the country. As Hucakbee goes further and further down this path of scooping up the evangelical vote from the other candidates, he begins to look more and more like someone who does not belong in the Oval Office. But that is a moot point. The real point is that, push come to shove, in the voting booth, a majority of Americans will not choose a Bible-thumper for President. He is not electable. The sooner the Republicans focus their efforts on somebody who is, the better.

I admire Huckabee's piousness. I admire his weight loss discipline. But we are not electing a new minister or a CEO for Slim Fast. It's time to move on from the Huckabee hype, just as soon as the 24x7 news cycle decides it's had enough with him.

You got a lot of growing up to do, buddy.

I wonder if that BLUE POLE in Huck's head hurts.

BTW Fellows,
Even if what you say is true, (And I doubt it) I would place my money on scientology being the fake. (Hubbard had even admitted to a friend that it was a con)

Well V the K and KHarn, guess you boys will have to wait
until the 2nd coming to convince yourselves of the truth.
Until then, I'll just sit back and let you believe as you will.
Doesn't hurt my feelings. After all, America still permits
freedom of speech & religion, no matter how apostate it is.

Huckabee would get slaughtered in the general election against any one of the potential democratric nominees. It's as simple as that. He would fit very nicely into the MSM template of negative Republican sterotypes and would be the democrat dream opponent. He is weak on foreign policy, weak on taxes, and is a proponent of nanny state health edicts. Not exactly the kind of guy that is going to inpsire the the strong Republican turnout that will be needed to keep a socialist out the White House.

Huckabee is a Dhimmicrat in RINO DRAG saying whatever it takes to get elected.

The MSM gives him a pass because it believes that just like in Ark. he will fold for the Dhimmicrat legislator.

He is a "Big Gubmint Solves Our Problems" kind of guy!!!!

Any other questions why he wouldbe one of our WORSE choices??

One other little issue. If Republicans continue to worry about Electability based on the Polls and what the MSM stirs up, we will continue to elect people who sell us and the country out!!!!

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I don't think it's a coincidence that the media began hyping Mike Huckabee right after a poll showed Giuliani, Romney, McCain, and Thompson could all beat Hillary.

Posted by: V the K at December 11, 2007 2:58 AM

Not only that, V, but also the media's turned their flogging of "Romney is a Mormon!" up to 11 while talking about how the "religious right" loves Huck's religious beliefs. Hyping Huck as being the "religious right's" dream candidate this election.

At the same time, they've suddenly taken all their focus off the Dem nominees, probably because Obama is slowly edging out Hillary in the polls and that would mean they'd actually have to sing his praises.
