Moonbat Choice for Texan of the Year

If you think Vladimir Putin was a lame choice for Person of the Year, how about the Dallas Morning News's Texan of the Year?

It is … drumroll, please … The Illegal Immigrant!

If liberal newspapers had been around to facilitate Rome's decline and fall, The Visigoth would have competed with The Vandal for Roman of the Year.

Rome falls to the Roman of the Year.

A few considerations:

1. What is up with the shaming tactics? Last I checked, Mexican wasn't a race. America is probably populated by the most tolerant people on the planet by nature of our varied population. I wonder how a neighborhood in Mexico City would welcome an influx of Japanese for example?

2. Being anti-illegal immigration boils down to wanting safe, secure non-porous borders. This is very different argument from being anti-immigration in general. People willing to come here legally and work make me happy. Provided they don't expect me to learn their language or adopt their customs, I'm not interested in stopping them from practicing cultural celebrations etc.

3. Perhaps eliminating welfare and putting the former recipients in these "jobs Americans won't fill/work for the pay" would work well?

Michelle Malkin suggested nominating
Dani Countryman
, a 15 year old girl murdered by illegal aliens, as Texan of the year.

Every time an ILLEGAL crossed the border it is a crime...

"Illegal" aliens commit ID fraud to stay and to work, which is a crime...

And 'Surprise'... Criminals tend to commit additional crimes.

Warehousing those criminals costs 20-40,000 dollars per year per Illegal alien.

Tax-payer dollars to which they are not entitled.

Anyone still in doubt as to where socialised medicine ends up turning into-

Our glorious British government are now on the brink of officially declaring that anyone who refuses to obey orders will be refused treatment. But still, of course, forced to pay for it.

In a New Year message to NHS staff, the Prime Minister indicates people may have to fulfil new "responsibilities" in order to establish their entitlement to care.
The new conditions could be set out in a formal NHS "constitution", Mr Brown says.

Overweight? Need healthcare? Forget it. Happy New Year!

Time bows at the altar of Gore-bal warming by citing any sort of weather as proof of climate change and telling us half the story (as usual): warming Arctic but not record ice Antarctic, higher temperatures recorded but not the IDIOTIC placement ofweather stations next to barbeque pits.

Basically, if the weather isn't continually perfect for all eternity, it must be climate change. Which, technically speaking, is correct and thus a subtly insidious way to claim victory for the alarmists.

The Dallas Morning News may have thought that they were creating an article that would bring to the forefront the tribulations of the poor unwashed masses that sneak across the Rio Grande with nothing on their backs but a shirt but in fact, it has had the reverse effect. Out of over 400 responses on the DMN web site, most said they were cancelling their DMN subscriptions. Could this be the DMN's "General Betrayus" moment that damn near took down the NYTs? It must have rung a bell over at DMN, the very next day it was not a lead story on their website.

Texans are very, VERY proud of being Texans and they resent an award being given to the "Texan" of the year that is neither Texan or American but instead is an illegal criminal.

With the MSM struggling to stay afloat, mostly due to the internet, you would think that publications would stay in tune with the opinions of their readership. Not so with the DMN, who not only insults Texans by naming criminals as TOY, but then to once again insult the readers who chose to opine on the website by calling their responses "What braying, paranoid nonsense".

With over 2 million illegals in Texas, Texans (real ones, that is) are getting pretty fed up with high property taxes for schools that must provide classes in Spanish, hosptials that are either severly strapped or are going to close, 70% of all births at ParkLane Hospital in Dallas being to illegal mothers at a cost of $7000. per baby, WIC offices being full of nothing but non-English speaking mothers with children and no father, the crime, the gathering at Home Depots where customers are shouted at in Spanish, the list goes on.

The article also goes on to say that Carol Keeton Strayhorm, Comptroller (TX) said that illegals contribute more than they cost us. DMN never bothered to report that was later disproven and that the cost to Texans for social services for illegals is costing us a bundle.

If we ever get rid of Rick Perry (a George Bush wannabe) and get a real conservative in the Governor's Mansion, we may see laws like those in Arizona and Oklahoma.
