Media Responds to Surge's Success With Flood of Phony Stories

One of the many benefits of the success of the Surge in Iraq is that the lack of violence has given MSM propagandists an opportunity to polish their fiction-writing skills. Bogus atrocity reports have been coming out one after another. Via NewsBusters:

The media's bogus report on 20 headless bodies in Diyala Province Nov. 1, 2007
The media's bogus report on journalist Dia al-Kawwaz slaughtered family members (with photo!) Nov. 29, 2007
The media's bogus Afghanistan "construction worker" bombing Dec. 2, 2007
The bogus Dwelah Massacre Dec. 2, 2007
The bogus refinery rocket attack Dec. 10, 2007
The bogus 12 mutilated bodies in Muqdadiya story Dec. 13, 2007
The bogus Diyala village reports Dec. 16, 2007

If Dems aren't able to force a surrender to al-Qaeda soon, who knows what stories the media will resort to inventing?

Media making up stories? Hey! Anyone seen Jason Blair recently or Dan Blather? I bet they are behind this!

I'm glad the surge has gone so well. Can we come home now or do the goalposts need to be moved again?

Or do we just ignore the old goalposts of Iraqi political reconciliation, which has not actually happened (and which would technically make the surge a failure).

God this is confusing - and expensive! Maybe I should just hide under my bed like a good Chickenhawk and hope the Muslim hordes will not invade us with their non-existent navies and air forces.

62 years after WW II ended in Europe we still have troops in Europe and Japan!! Why arent the same people calling for us to bring the troops home from there.

Most of the people cackling about bringing the troops home now only want it done so the Iraqi government will collapse and chaos will ensue. The last thing THEY want is a successfully reformed Middle East. Troops should come home slowly and without any press. Simply dont replace ones that come back. Yanking troops out based on some knee jerk liberal reaction would be disasterous. It took several hundred years for the middle east to become the mess it is - it will take a generation to change it. The price of failure will result in war with hundreds of millions of dead. Or perhaps it would be better to let radical Islam take over large parts of the Earth leaving the US and whats left of the civilized world no option but to nuke the Islamic world? On 2nd thought maybe it would! Bring all the troops home now so the nukings can begin! Yee-haw!!! Lets get this overwith in the space of 60 minutes.

"Most of the people cackling about bringing the troops home now only want it done so the Iraqi government will collapse and chaos will ensue."

I think our friend Mike fits that category.

"non-existent navies and air forces."

Only ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads they get from Iran, but whatever. We'll overlook that so Mike can be right. They managed to kill 3000 people without an navy or an airforce, but I'm sure they're all better now and would never think of doing that again.

MIKE;
There are about a million Muslims in the United States right now and there are a few who murdered, or tried to murder people (Ever hear of the "DC Sniper", just to name two?). It wasn't an army or navy or an air force that blew up that train in Spain, or set off the bombs in England, was it?
Even if this isn't a "world war", it certainly is a WORLD-WIDE war.

Who needs navies or air power, Mike, when you have terrorist front ops like C.A.I.R., with their pretty girls on T.V. rocking us to sleep? Or the Islamists' "Liberal" shills like Harry Reid and Barbara Boxer doing the same? Looks like they've already succeeded with you.

You guys are the most scared people in America. How do you type from under your beds?

FWIW, I think we should leave Japan. The goalposts have moved constantly there, as well. Initially we were there to 'contain Japanese militarism'. When that was no longer a threat, we used the Cold War to justify our continued presence. Then when the Soviet Union fell, it was to counterbalance China. Now it's mostly North Korea. In the meanwhile, Japan has freeloaded off of our paying for their defense without even being obligated to defend us if we're attacked. It's a great deal - for them. It's one of the reasons their economy grew so dramatically after the war to the extent that they are among the largest holders of American debt.

Did anyone notice the US military in Iraq recently learned thru extensive focus groups that ALL Iraqi groups blame the US for discord in Iraq?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/12/18/AR2007121802262_pf.html

That, plus the fact that a majority of Iraqis support attacks on US troops ought to be reason enough for us to grant their wish and leave their country. Or not - you guys love sending off American soldiers to die in the country where Osama bin Laden is not located.

by the way, regarding the nuclear option in the middle east, what do you think the Israelis will think as nuclear fallout rains down on them? What about our allies Turkey, Saudi Arabia & Iraq?

And how do you geniuses plan to extract oil from fields that are contaminated with radiation?

And what do you think US troops in the region will think about being contaminated with radioactive fallout?

Did any of you ever consider this?

I look forward to your well thought-out responses.
