Gillian Gibbons Got No Help from Feminists
To the great disappointment of the Islamic hordes clogging the streets of Khartoum, British teacher Gillian Gibbons will not be beheaded for allowing her students to name a teddy bear Mohammad. She won't even have to serve out her 15-day sentence, having been pardoned and then kicked out of the country.
Pretty much everyone was outraged over the treatment Gibbons received in this absurd demonstration of Islamic intolerance. Even some Muslim groups were politically astute enough to speak out against it. But there is one group that had nothing to say on the matter — the same group that had nothing to say about Bill Clinton's habitual abuse of women: the feminist establishment.
When asked to comment, the National Organization for Women announced that they were "not putting out a statement or taking a position."
Gibbons might have received 40 lashes and 6 months in prison for her supposed crime. But NOW militants couldn't figure out if this is bad or not, any more than they could figure out if sexual harassment and even rape are bad when perpetrated by a Democrat president.

It's been apparent for years that the American feminist establishment is nothing more than a shill for the shallow leftists in the Democrat party, wrapping themselves in the feminist label for convenience. Groups like NOW and Eleanor Smeal's Feminist Majority, also amazingly silent in the past five years about Islamic terrorism and violence against women, use women's issues as nothing more than slogans and chants in their efforts to gain political power.
Their vile silence isn't limited to the Gibbons situation. In Saudi Arabia, a gang-rape victim has been sentenced to 200 lashes and 6 months in prison. Why? Because when she was raped, she was violating Sharia law by being out with a man who was not a relative. Her sentence was actually increased when she dared to appeal her sentence.
What has NOW's and the Feminist Majority's response been to this obscene outrage? The same silence offered to Gillian Gibbons. Nothing, because God forbid we should be reminded that there is a disturbed enemy out there worth fighting, and God forbid that for one moment we should suggest that the United States might not be heinous imperialist the left casts us to be.
A kid in Gibbons' class named Mohammad, after whom the toy was actually named, had the guts to speak out. If only the same could be said for establishment feminists, they might be able to reestablish the credibility they flushed away during Clinton's disgraceful administration.

Gillian's been pardoned, no thanks to the liberal feminists who were too busy emo-ing over everyone atatcking Shrillary for her flip-flopping... I mean, wimmen-ness.

NOW is afraid of the male-dominated Mohammedans. They only speak where they have the freedom to attempt to dominate men; they say very little about actual repressive societies where women are actually abused and mistreated. I have no respect for their pulpit and since the time they did not speak on behalf of the victims of Bill Clinton; they actually have had very little to say about anything; they sold their soul to the devil regarding legitimate issues of women's rights.

Shouldnt naming a child Mohammad be against the muzzies rules too? Should all people named Mohammad be killed? After all they are impersonating a revered prophet.

N.O.W. and other radical feminist organizations exist today for one purpose only: TO PRESERVE, DEFEND AND EXPAND THE ABORTION INDUSTRY. They could care less about the real abuse and oppression of women that occurs in Islamic countries. Instead they rant about how women are treated unfairly in the USA and devote all of their attention to making sure the murder of the unborn continues unabated.
