A Coward's Less Than Triumphant Return
Don Imus has crawled on his belly back onto the airwaves. He has added blacks to his staff in a show of obeisance to Al Sharpton, and after nine months continues to whimper about how sorry he is for calling some black basketball players "nappy headed hos" — a totally unremarkable putdown in the context of a show that put down everyone. Yet he continues to market himself not as a loafer-licking, politically correct toady, but as an irreverent rebel. From his comeback opening monologue, via NewsBusters:
I will never say anything in my lifetime that will make any of these young women at Rutgers regret or feel foolish that they accepted my apology and forgave me. And no one else will say anything on my program that will make anybody think that I didn't deserve a second chance. […] But other than that, not much has changed. Dick Cheney is still a war criminal; Hillary Clinton is still Satan … and I'm back on the radio!
In other words, Imus will continue to throw rocks where it's safe to throw rocks. That even this coward publicly denounces the Vice President is a reminder of how far this country is from the fascist state moonbats would like to believe it is. Our politicians aren't Satan. But Al Sharpton might be.

On a tip from Cheetah.

and Imus is still nuts! Maybe some day one of his horses will kick him in the head and he will start making sense. Imus is just a cranky old liberal goat. Though hearing him call Hillary Clinton Satan was worth a chuckle.

"That even this coward publicly denounces the Vice President* is a reminder of how far this country is from the fascist state moonbats would like to believe it is."
Exactly. Another brilliant point, Van.
*As he squirms on the floor with his neck under the boot of Al Sharpton

No matter how much $$ they made before, tough guys like Imus and "Dog" Chapman" quiver and cry in public (on cue) in order to get back into the spotlight.
By not standing up, they continue to erode free speech.

I heard he has a part-time black chick on the show to keep him in line. Is the show called "Imus and Andy?"

Do believe JamesB has clinched it ;-)
Look. Imus has leveled insults toward everyone, even against our Creator, who's infinitely more important than any human. No one raised a peep then. 'Course, God won't sue Imus either. Money and image are everything to these guys...cowards...as you rightly label them.

Al Sharpton as Satan? By no means! That pudgy little fellow with the well-done hair is more likely just a shill for some cut-rate demon. Now Hilary! There is one worthy of Satan’s time and effort.
