The Knapsack of Nonsense

White privilege — that indefinable quality Caucasians have that makes them so hateful to festering racists who are often Caucasian themselves — isn't always easy to identify. Dr. Peggy McIntosh, associate director of Wellesley College Center for Research on Women, describes it as an "invisible knapsack."

After McIntosh informed a Boston College audience that this magical knapsack is stuffed full of "a right, advantage, or immunity granted to or enjoyed by white persons beyond the common advantage of all others," listeners were asked to turn to their neighbors, and spend two minutes discussing "how an unearned advantage or unearned disadvantage has affected their lives."

Here's my story of unearned disadvantage: Just because I'm not lucky enough to be a complete horse's ass, I'll never get paid a six-figure salary to spew socially corrosive racist rhetoric in the name of "anti-racism."

In an astounding reversal of logic, McIntosh's fellow horse's ass Paul Marcus of the tax-exempt racist hate group Community Change gave this as an example of the sort of privileges Whitey might find in his special knapsack:

I can be sure that people I meet at BC [Boston College] will not think that I got in because of an affirmative action program.

You see, because white people have to overcome explicit racial prejudice to earn acceptance to a school, they are racist for being aware that the members of groups that really are privileged did not have to meet the same exacting standards. An academic might call it the postmodern deconstruction of sanity.

Where's my knapsack of White Privilege? How come I don't get any special rights and immunities and advantages? I've been "white" for over fifty years and for some reason nobody has seemed to understand that I'm supposed to be special. Where's mine? I want mine.

On a related note, the "worse" (sic) resistor to the U. Delaware racist brainwashing tells off her commissar. I think we should send this girl to talk to Dr. McIntosh.

"White privilege"

How come when libs discuss oppressed and disadvantaged minorities they refer only to blacks and hispanics?

What about Asians...oh yeah, they don't count as disadvantage when trying to count oppressed students by skin-color on college campuses.

Also, the likes of SONY, TSMC, Toyota, Lenovo, Samsung, etc. shows the "white privilege" is a fanasty of the elite professor-class.

Roger Scruton, discussing his neologism "oikophobia"--

"Its symptoms are instantly recognized: namely, the disposition, in any conflict, to side with 'them' against 'us', and the felt need to denigrate the customs, culture and institutions that are identifiably 'ours'. I call the attitude oikophobia -- the aversion to home -- by way of emphasizing its deep relation to xenophobia, of which it is the mirror image. Oikophobia is a stage through which the adolescent mind normally passes. But it is a stage in which intellectuals tend to become arrested."
