Boulder Imposes a Little More Equality

Moonbat educrats in Boulder have moved America one step closer to the uniform mediocrity liberals extol as "equality."

Boulder Valley School District has seen its last valedictorian, as class rank will no longer be calculated. Apparently the idea is that if no one is allowed to be the winner, no one will feel like a loser; in actuality, it makes all of us losers.

School Board President Helayne Jones explains:

We have a responsibility and a goal of educating the whole child and not just coming up with this race for tenths of a percentage. High school is supposed to be a time to try things out.

You know, like LSD, casual sex, homosexuality, etc. At least, that's what Boulder kids are taught at the annual Conference on World Affairs.

To be competitive in the old valedictorian race, students would have to take more difficult classes, which were weighted more heavily. Now they can goof off by taking theater and phys ed, secure in the knowledge that it's useless to exert yourself when the authorities will assure that we're all equal anyway.

Hat tip: Slapstick Politics.

Something similar happened in my town just a couple of years ago...class rank will no longer apply to the general hordes, although there will still be a valedictorian and salutorian. I'm waiting for that to be eliminated eventually as well.

Heaven forbid those who excel should be lauded for it.
