BBC Spins for Islamist Murderers
Posted by Dave Blount at November 25, 2007 11:26 AM
What would you call Muslims in Turkey who kill three people, including a pastor and a missionary, binding them hand and foot, stabbing them repeatedly, and cutting their throats, explicitly because the victims were Christian? If you answered "Islamists," you'll never get work with the BBC. The correct answer: "nationalists."
The same answer applies to the killers of Catholic priest and a Christian journalist, also in Turkey. Since the Religion of Peace so beloved by the Beeb could never inspire such acts, it must be something dark and terrible, like "nationalism."
Just as in totalitarian police states, it's not enough to read the news; we have to decipher it to figure out what's really going on under the thick coating of deliberate misdirection employed by a media whose motives are entirely political — and diametrically opposed to our best interests.
On a tip from Scott.
