Artist Admits to Fear of Islam

Moonbat artists certainly are bold when it comes to defiling Christianity. With Islam, however, their bogus courage fails them — as Grayson Perry at least admits.

Britain's contemporary artists are fêted around the world for their willingness to shock but fear is preventing them from tackling Islamic fundamentalism. Grayson Perry, the cross-dressing potter, Turner Prize winner and former Times columnist, said that he had consciously avoided commenting on radical Islam in his otherwise highly provocative body of work because of the threat of reprisals.
Perry also believes that many of his fellow visual artists have also ducked the issue, and one leading British gallery director told The Times that few major venues would be prepared to show potentially inflammatory works.
"I've censored myself," Perry said at a discussion on art and politics organised by the Art Fund. "The reason I haven't gone all out attacking Islamism in my art is because I feel real fear that someone will slit my throat."
Perry's highly decorated pots can sell for more than £50,000 and often feature sex, violence and childhood motifs. One work depicted a teddy bear being born from a penis as the Virgin Mary. "I'm interested in religion and I've made a lot of pieces about it," he said. "With other targets you've got a better idea of who they are but Islamism is very amorphous. You don't know what the threshold is. Even what seems an innocuous image might trigger off a really violent reaction so I just play safe all the time."

Sad but true: in a world run by politically correct cowards, terrorism works. Since you can't be a Christian in any meaningful sense and a terrorist at the same time, look forward to more crucifixes in urine, Virgin Marys smeared with feces, anatomically correct chocolate Jesuses, etc. — and nothing but groveling respect for the terrorist cult known as the Religion of Peace.

Rule by bullying and intimidation, as it is in Islam, so it is in the Sorocrat party. Either that, or Eliot Spitzer is practicing his best Hugo Chavez impression.

I think this is very true, speaking as a very minor little artist myself. Nobody knows what will trigger a reprisal. This is the effectiveness of a murder cult like Islamofascism. Like a hydra, it has heads everywhere. Nobody knows which muslims are jihadists. There's no safety.

But also I think this reeks of the betrayal by the political class of the populace. By refusing to acknowledge Islam itself as the problem, by sticking to this loony "one or two nutters" philosophy, and by attempting to appease Islam as well, they have effectively abrogated responsibility, effectively refused to protect the citizens.

The first thing we need to do is accept that we are not in a "War On Terror" or in a war against terrorists, and that this isn't a matter of policing. We are, astonishingly for those of us who have grown up in the Post-WWII peace (particularly here in the Pax Europa) in a struggle to the death with Islam itself. Its old empire is on the move once more, and this time its tendrils stretch into the heart of our own western lands.

While, at the official level, we continue to live a lie, we cannot hope to prevail. While our own leaders continue to believe a myth that the enemy can be pacified, we are doomed. When criticism of the enemy is defined as "hate speech" and subject to official sanction-- it makes as much sense as, if the 1930s, criticism of Nazism had been banned to prevent offending the Germans.

We need a modern version of the Civis Romana- "harm one Roman, and you have made an enemy of all Rome".

Can the Anglosphere muster the courage to stand again alone against a tyrannical empire? I believe we still can, though we may need another Churchill. Sadly, he wouldn't be allowed these days because he was, you know, overweight.

Street artists admit to no fear of sedition charges;

UCLA: Students protest in anti-war solidarity
[Rally engineered for those who may not have otherwise voiced their opinions on Iraq conflict]...

Black armbands and peace signs adorned students [slideshow] in protest of the war in Iraq Friday at noon on the Kerckhoff lawn. Students held banners and shouted chants in favor of peace.

Organized by students in the Environment 138 class – “Effective methods for social change” – the event encouraged students to get involved and withdraw their support from the war.But don't ever question their patriotism.

Piss Muhammad? Urine is for drinking, not soaking! Oh, and don't forget the ultra-violent reprisals!

Bukhari Volume 1, Book 4, Number 234:
Narrated Abu Qilaba:

Anas said, "Some people of 'Ukl or 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. So the Prophet ordered them to go to the herd of (Milch) camels and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they went as directed and after they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of the Prophet and drove away all the camels. The news reached the Prophet early in the morning and he sent (men) in their pursuit and they were captured and brought at noon. He then ordered to cut their hands and feet (and it was done), and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, They were put in 'Al-Harra' and when they asked for water, no water was given to them." Abu Qilaba said, "Those people committed theft and murder, became infidels after embracing Islam and fought against Allah and His Apostle ."

Ian,
I am reminded of the testamonies of Nazi slave camps and Communist "re-education" camps. They all said something like:
"You had to be carefull and keep quiet, because you didn't know who was a guard and who was a prisoner. Even your own mother would turn you in for a crust of bread."

And now, we turn the floor over to our resident trolls...... um, we awate your comments.... Uh, trolls? Helloooo? (echo--echo--echo--)

KHarn; a personal anecdote here. Years ago when I used to get a lot of minicabs home (I worked in theatre so worked late, and liked a drink or two after that...), a conversation with a muslim cab driver. I'm not sure of the year, but I guess it would have been probably around the time of the Rushdie fatwa or a little after, maybe 89 or 90.

Anyway, it still chills me to remember this ordinary muslim bloke explaining calmly and cheerfully why the Jews must be exterminated. Palestine? No. Imperialist allies of America? No. He explained it is because the Jews were God's chosen people. By denying Jesus and then Mohammed, they had turned their backs on God in a way only they could, being The Chosen. Ergo, one day, they must all perish. I asked whether Christians must all be exterminated too, but he explained that we could convert, so could be redeemed. But the Jews are inherently irredeemable.

Just an ordinary guy. Driving a cab. Scared the crap out of me back then, still does to think about it. That's one reason I've never believed in the "just one or two extremists" line.

Now there's a man with the courage of his convictions! He's willing to bag on the Christians, because the Christians won't fight back. But pick a fight with Muslims? Whoa, dude! That could be dangerous!
