nanc, I have to disagree. Firstly I'd query whether girls are "routinely" abducted, raped, maimed and murdered. It happens, it's awful, but it's a rare and horrible crime. It's not exactly new either. The history of mankind is filled with horrible crimes, including rape. Indeed, being Biblical, we must presume rape was a part of that society too, since there are Levitical laws discussing it.

But my bigger worry with what you've said is the idea that girls get themselves raped. I'm sorry if this makes me sound like a liberal. I'm a guy. I've never raped anyone, and I've never wanted to rape anyone, and the thought fills me with revulsion. I've looked at hot women and felt a stir of lustiness, and I think that's rather normal and positive actually, and I've even been fortunate enough to have sex with some of them :) But it's never crossed my mind to take what is not freely offered.

There's a minority of assholes in the world. They have no decency, no respect for their fellow humans, they're the people who'd rape a woman or shoot someone for their wallet, or abduct a child and torture them to death for fun. They're broken people, they're irredeemable, they're scum. But I don't believe they become scum because they saw a flash of flesh or a suggestive tee-shirt slogan. They're already broken.

If you follow the logic you've proposed, then a woman showing cleavage, or leg, or looking attractive, is giving some kind of "come on" and is "asking for it". Well, she isn't asking for it. The girl in the photo isn't asking for it either, and anyone who rapes her then claims she was should have his genitals slammed between two bricks until the problem is solved. Blaming women for male aggression is what the islamofascists do. Their entire philosophy regarding women is that any woman who doesn't go around in portable black tent is asking for it, and it's her fault if she gets it, and she is responsible.

Well she's not responsible. The guy who commits the rape is responsible, because he's a scumbag. That's not to blame "men". It's to blame the particular man who commits the crime. He knows what he's doing is wrong. Every man knows if he's committing a rape, and he knows that's one of the lowest crimes a man can sink to. It's not the fault of "men" and it's not the fault of "women" or "girls".

I hate the whole goddamned "gender" argument. It's about people. 99% of the population are just decent folks going about our lives. We never kill anyone, rape anyone, steal anything, burgle anyone, we all just try to do a decent life and bring up our families and be kind to our elders and help our friends. The 1% scumbags are why we need police and courts and prisons. But I would honestly put it to you that the 1% aren't the scummy way they are because of the clothing choices of women. They're that way because they're broken. The crime is the fault of the criminal. End of.

So the schools will soon be abetting a crime... Because the legal age for sex is 16 in Maine. Is this a police honey-trap jailbait recruitment drive, or what?
