Greenpeace Declares War on the iPhone
The kooks at Greenpeace have no problem with bombing banks, but iPhones meet with their righteous disapproval.
iPhones contain no cadmium or mercury, and appear to meet stringent E.U. and U.S. environmental standards — but not those of Greenpeace, which has accused the devices of containing trace amounts of lead.
In sufficient doses, lead can cause cancer and brain damage, so if you were thinking of eating some iPhones, stop at a few dozen, so that you don't consume enough to hurt you.
Eating too many iPhones is also discouraged because the PVC plastic contains chlorine, which can be harmful if ingested. Then there are the phthalates, which are innocuous but dreaded by moonbats.
The Center for Environmental Health is actually suing to force Apple to put toxic hazard warnings on iPods and iPhones.
It looks like a self-consciously moonbatty corporate image and having Al Gore on the board of directors aren't enough to placate the watermelons. When all is said and done, Apple is a corporation making money by giving people what they want — and so it must be punished.

On a tip from Vixt.

I've thought about passing around petitions outlawing arsenic and gallium in manufacturing processes in the State of Oregon.
Poisons. Horrible poisons. And think about the risk to children, the eldery and our schools. Not to mention school teachers, who are unionized.
Just to have the Governor explain why Intel was packing up. Why our new experiment in Hillsboro was going away.
Somewhere on my blog--cheap whoring--I have a link to Penn & Teller's petition to outlaw Hydrogen Dioxide. Unlike water, arsenic actually has a track record. Documented by "Arsenic and Old Lace". And if Hollywood made a movie out of this threat, you better believe it's real!

"Also, the iPhone was found to contain bromine additives"
Interesting, bromine is used in water treatment to suppress legionalla (and other bugs). I've brominated water systems myself as an engineer. I presume they'll turn on that next. Sigh.
Also, worth mentioning (I'm sure you're aware) that Greenpeace declared war on the element chlorine some years ago. The fact that that's entirely irrational doesn't matter. The fact that common salt is sodium chloride doesn't matter. But then, the protest industry hate salt too. They have no understanding of chemistry. Strangely, nobody ever seems to mind about this.
The Center For Environmental Moonbattery ring a bell. A look at their website makes it clear they want to ban all industrial chemicals and thus industry itself. No surprise there of course. I've a feeling they're another Nader front group, can't be bothered to check, or another one incubated by the Tides Foundation/KerryAid. Keeping track of it all gets tiresome. Laughably they describe asbestos as a synthetic chemical created by industry. It is, of course, a naturally occurring mineral.
As to lead solder, it's been banned here in the EUSSR. A friend of mine who's an engineer has bought a lifestime supply (literally. Farking massive reels of the stuff). It's hard stuff to do without. In particular, lead-free solders "whisker" leading to high failure rates in electronics. Expect future products to be much more failure-prone. There is of course no proof that lead solder is causing any harm to anybody.
There must be some way to stop these people. Somebody, tell me how we can stop these people.

Most people over the age of five do not chew on electronic devices. The Iphone is safe if not ingested.
If these moonbats had their way, the world would be more dangerous, as with all the warning labels, real threats would be lost in the crowd.

What next lead pencils? Will Greengoof raid the SAT testing centers, schools and daycare centers and grab all the #2 Pencils?

Tip of the day: Moonbat Michigan Governor: "Where did you selfish taxpayers get the idea it's *your* money?"
Gov. Jennifer Granholm told the Free Press in a piece Sunday. "Where's the notion of the common good? It's been lost over decades because there's been ... this idea that it's your money, it's your money. What happened to, 'It's your schools, and it's your roads and it's your parks, your libraries?'"This dingbat presides over the state with the worst economy in the USA, and recently enacted a massive tax increase in the midst of her recession. Her echo of Hillary's "We're going to take things away from you for the common good." Tells us what we can all expect under a Hilldawg presidency.

If the iPhone is bad because of trace amounts of lead what about those greeny cars with batteries like the Prius. You munch on one of those batteries and it'll make you sick.
