Dem Senators Politicize Wildfires

As vicious firestorms that have forced hundreds of thousands of people to evacuate their homes continue to menace Southern California, shameless Dems have attempted to exploit even this for partisan advantage.

There are two causes for the fires. Any student of moonbattery could guess what they are: global warming and the war in Iraq.

Dingy Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader:

One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming.

He's hoping the fires can help him ram through a comprehensive energy package that will no doubt stick it good to those of us who are selfish enough to consume energy. If only Reid et al. could jack up energy taxes high enough, the weather might theoretically cool off by a fraction of degree, putting an end to wildfires once and for all.

See B.S. reports on Reid's wacky colleague Babs Boxer:

California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer complained on Capitol Hill Tuesday that the ability of the state's National Guard to respond to disasters like the fires has been compromised because too much of its equipment and personnel are committed in Iraq.

Not much has been heard about Karl Rove's possible role in the fires. His strategy of lying low seems to be working.

A home goes up in flames, thanks to global warming and the War on Terror.

So a zero point single digit of increased temperature can ignite massive wildfires and burning homes to the concrete foundations; but, fire can't melt steel?

Yeah boy, I'm over 50 and have never ever heard of wildfires in southern California before. Gotta be global warming.

These "comprehensive energy packages" sure do look like old fashioned corporate welfare to me. I read an editorial in yesterday's Wall Street Journal that mentioned the Democrats are getting all the attention from corporate lobbyists looking for government handouts.

Since when do US troops fight fires? Sure, in a pinch some of them might do it (particularly if they are also firmen) but thats about it.

The whole global warming hysteria is once again in high gear. Dont people realize Southern California is part of a desert? Its hot, its dry. If you want to live there build a concrete house with concrete roof tiles and a built in fire suppressor system. Fools.

Soooo....

Algore not only invented the internet - but he invented fire as well.

Who knew?

Posted by: Jimbo at October 24, 2007 11:03 AM

Has anyone bothered to inform these idiot moonbats that wildfires existed BEFORE this global warming hysteria even started? How about the fact that wildfires existed even before man did? What about the environuts who demand that forests be untouched and dry underbrush not be cleared, thus turning these forests into massive tinderboxes? Environmentalism and responsible forest management are two VERY different things. Is there anything these moronic moonbats WON'T blame on global warming?

Everyone reading this should email these two morons with something like the text below. If for nothing else, than to just let them know that there are some of us out here amongst the great unwashed, that are wise to the sophomoric games they are playing.

Dear Senator:

Using this wildfire tragedy to advance your political talking points du jour.......????

Senator, have you NO shame!

I say we blame the morons who imported all those damned exploding Eucalyptus trees from Down Under.

I question the timing of these wildfires.

Reid just never learns from past political encounters, does he?

The few few times he has opened his mouth he has had his ass kicked by GW and Rush Limaugh. So much so, that he now has to unbutton his collar to take a shit.

"One reason why we have the fires in California is global warming."

I second a comment above...who knew California faced danger from forest and brush fires? Learn something new every day.

Also, I did not realize that global warming will cause some people to commit arson. Who knew?

I'm wondering if the greenies will listen to the firemen that are fighting these blazes who are saying the forest service is to blame for not allowing nature to run it's course...

Probably not since the greenies have let firemen perish in forest fires as to not disturb fish...

I feel for those that have lost loved one's and homes but I also have to say they're getting what they deserve. California has implemented just about every wacked out idea that wacko greenies like the sierra club have come up with.

Latest news suggests that the Feds are poised to declare these fires the work of arsonists. Think the moonbats will acknowledge that they were dead wrong.....AGAIN? Don't hold your breath.

40 years or so ago, as a child growing up in san diego - we had fires somewhat like this every year at this time - it was a given.

there were times when we'd be socked in for two weeks with ashes the size of quarters raining from the sky - it's been happening since the beginning of santa winds - it will happen again.

now, what they have to worry about are landslides in the next rainy season and wild animals coming down from the hills looking for food.

over 40 years ago, at school camp, we planted pine sapplings in the forest in the regions of palomar and camp marsten - have always wondered how those trees have fared.

The real primer for the wildfires was - of course - moonbattery.

Specifically, the the Gaia-worshippers... I mean, the environmentalists refused (and still refuse even as the fires burn) to let the government clear up the branches littering the forest and thin some of the trees away, resulting in thick and dry woods that burn frightfully.

It adds up with Crichton’s speech about environmentalist meddling which resulted in the similar burning of Yellowstone Park.
