Artist Implants an Ear in His Arm

Still another reason to spare taxpayers from being forced to finance what now passes for art:

Cypriot-born Australian performance artist Stelios Arcadious has had a human ear implanted in his arm. It was grown in a lab from cells before being implanted under his skin.

According to Arcadious, art "should be more than simply illustrating ideas." His implant "is more of a relief at present than an ear but it is still recognisable as an ear," as you can see here.

Once the ear has fully developed, he plans to implant a microphone that will connect with a bluetooth transmitter, so that we can all hear what his ear hears.

Good thing liberals don't regard human embryos as people. Think of the experimental fun that lies ahead!

The Vacanti mouse has been surpassed.

That is actual old news seeing when I heard about it. It didn't work out, the "ear" got infected when they attempted to implant the microphone. He had to remove the ear but apparently it wasn't a complete waste of money because it "advanced the art world".

I just checked google to see if it really was old news but apparently many news sight just started to report on it. I swear to God that I heard about this almost a year ago.

I swear to God, if we would only stop saying things like "I'm shocked and insulted", and instead said "that's freaking RETARDED" the "art" and "entertainment" people would stop doing crap like this!

Eric I hear you. Half the "news" is actually rehashed from months, even years before in the hopes that most people have forgotten it. Why dig up real stories when it's so much easier to rewrite the old? Snickered the other day on hearing on some major news station that "scientists have decided that the appendix does actually have a function". Well ya know something? That's been known for >20 yrs. I recall reading it in my college immunology textbook 15 yrs. back, and by the time textbooks hit the shelves, you know they're already several years behind. Ditto with all these "new studies". It's not new, it's just reworked. Never trust what the MSM vomits forth.
